Does anyone know if you can buy 02 phones in Orlando? We saw a huge stall in the Florida Mall by the food court last year but didn't really have a look.

What do you mean by O2 phones?

Do you mean phones that can be used with an O2 SIM card when you return to the UK, or phones that can be used in the US while your there?

I'm sure you can by Tri or Quad band phones that will work with an O2 SIM. But can't see there being any advantage in buying one in the US, when you can get most free in the UK with an O2 monthy contract.

what it is my daughter wants the new pink samsung e330 for christmas, my hubby said he wondered if we could buy it cheaper over there if they sell it.

I do not want a contract phone I want a pay as you go!

The only thing with that is you would either have to pay alot to get it as sim free and that would probably not work out cheaper. Or you would have to buy it locked to a USA network and get it unlocked when you get back and risk it not working. The other thing is that when i was out there i found that they didnt do many of the same phones as we do here.

Personally i wouldnt risk it.

Kerrys right, The US are usually behind us in the phone department!
Last year we bought a O2 phone at Wal-Mart, we bought it for the sole purpose of using in the US. When we got home we just emailed O2 and they unlocked the phone, we just had to fax them the receipt and numbers etc. we didn't really need it unlocked as we only use it out there.

Oh I don't know, those phones which double up as walkie talkies are certainly interesting!

Dual system, within a range they work like the PMR's then outside that range area they operate as mobiles

are you talking about Push to Talk?...they work like walkie talkies, in the sense that you have to push a button to talk and the other person can only listen (one way communication)...
however, they are not limited in range the way walkie talkies are since they are broadcast over the cellular network.......
