Hey guys! So I was hoping to get some help from people who made the move to Florida or live in the area. My DH and I would like to buy a house (of course close to Disney!) We would not be living there immediately- would look for a home that allows long term rentals. As my DH gets closer to retirement, we’d start fixing it up and getting ready to move in. Would love suggestions for great towns in the Disney area. Also, if anyone used a realtor they can recommend, that will work with out-of-towers, i’d appreciate that too!! Thanks in advance for your help!

Depending on where you are moving from, you may get sticker shock. Insurance tends to be high and you may need flood insurance.

Have you tried these sites to narrow your choices down?

Zwillow.com

Streeteasy.com

Thanks! We have a couple towns that were recommended to us, but would love to hear from people that actually live down there.

Did you mean zillow.com? Realtors.com doesn't have as many properties.
Did you know that various features on yer browser can cause you to forget how to spell? LOL.
I just plug a "z" into the address box and down it falls from the top of the list.
Thanks for being my spellcheck!:cool2:.

I vote for more coastal. It won’t be as hot and you will have a nice ocean or gulf, wait red tide...breeze.
Yeah, Red Tide is bad this year on the Gulf Coast, but other years it wasn't so bad. Hasn't been this bad in ten years or more.

We live in Seminole County which is less than an hour from the parks. School's don't sound like they would be that important for you, but Seminole County school's are among the best school systems in the state. This was our primary focus with our move.
It depends on how close you want to be to the parks as well as your other interests. We usually go to WDW a couple times per month and enjoy other hobbies you will not find around the parks. You also will find more chain restaurants around WDW than other areas near WDW.

Thanks so much! I appreciate your feedback!!! Depending on when we actually make the move, DD will most likely be in (or getting ready to go to) college and DS finishing HS. We are hoping they’ll want to go to College down there (or in surrounding states) so we won’t be far from them. Wishful thinking! We love Disney, so the closer the better! LOL
