Hello Everyone, I have only 30 more days and I will be at WDW! My current bathing suit is very worn out. Since I live in "The Great Northeast" there is not one local store that has a bathing suit this time of year. I have also tried an on-line store, and I had to send them back because they didn't fit. Dick's Sporting Goods store has bathing suits (Speedo's) for very, very tiny younger people. I am 62 years of age, and I am in the lower plus sizes.

Is there anywhere on Disney Property that will have bathing suits for me? Maybe even the airport?

Thanks In Advance

The resort gift shops typically have one style of bathing suit available. I believe they go up to size 16. The gift shops at the WDW water parks have a large selection in different styles and even plus sizes. But you'll need a water park ticket to purchase one from there.

If you live in or near NJ the store I work in Khols Off Isle is still selling bathing suits at 30% Off right now. All short sleeve shirts, shorts, capris, sandals and sunglasses are also 30% Off. Basically anything summer is on sale.

How about Amazon? I would try that. You will have a better selection and much better prices.

If you'll have time to head to the Grand Floridian while you're at WDW, there is a shop there on the first floor in the lobby that has a great selection of bathing suits; I've seen them there year-round too. I can't remember the name of the store; Summer Lace maybe? If you don't see it right away, a Cast Member will be able to point you in the right direction.

Depends how much you're looking to spend on a bathing suit. If you google plus size bathing suits you can find them online. Within an hour of where I live there are many swim shops. I'm In. A suburban metropolitan area in the midatlantic. But understand you will pay a lot here or in Dismey. Good luck

If I were you I would try to get one prior to arrival. Mouse keeping accidentally threw away my son's swimsuit and swimshirt mistaking them for trash in our dirty clothes basket (he was potty training and had an accident before I could get him out of it so I had it tied shut in a small plastic grocery type bag until I could wash it). Since they couldn't retrieve it they told me to just buy a new set, charge it to the room and they'd credit us the cost. Problem was we weren't going to a water park on that trip and I had a hard time locating a suit and swim shirt in his size in the small resort shop selection (had to check multiple resorts). They don't sell swimsuits at the theme park shops or at the big Disney store Disney springs I discovered. I would suspect plus size swimsuits may also be harder to find at WDW. It would be ashame to have to spend a lot of money on a swimsuit you don't really like.

Keep in mind that the weather in December can be unpredictable and may be too cold for swimming. You may spend all sorts of money, time and effort trying to find a new suit and then not be able to use it. Unless your worn suit is so bad that it can't be worn in public anymore, I would just take what I had.

Have no fear. Florida always have bathing suits. You can stop by one of the outlet stores or check out Walmart. You can find swimsuits at almost every Disney resort. Polynesian and animal kingdom has a few. I would call a few of the resorts and shops to see who has what to make it easier.

I would also suggest the resort shop on first floor of Grand Floridian...had a good selection of bathing suits...For a cheaper solution, I would check out LandsEnd. If you don't like you can return at your local Sears!

If you need a plus size one, I highly recommend Lands' End. If you don't wear a suit too much and don't want to invest a bunch of money (and also are not wary of a used suit), you can usually get them for a good price on eBay.

I have had great luck using Swimsuitsforall online using my measurements. Lots of variety for my size 16/18. Never had to send anything back and there is always a coupon if you sign up for their emails.

I'd order one try amazon with 2 day shipping to be sure it fits...the Dolphin hotel has a nice resort wear shop in the lobby too

I got a bikini once from the contemporary gift shop and loved it! They had one pieces there and tankinis as the current styles last I checked. Should be in most resort gift shops!

I'm in Boston and Target still has loads of swimsuits in store including plus-sizes. Also, TJ Maxx and Marshall's always has swimwear in all sizes.

I agree with everyone else, while they have them in the gift shops they are marked up way too high. I would just put a pair of swim shorts over my old one if it's too raggedy and go with that. As others have said, in December you may or may not even get to use it and it sounds like you don't wear one very often anyway so I wouldn't waste the money. I've had good luck at Dick's, I'm a diver and we often go on trips in the winter, I'm constantly either changing sizes or mine get worn out from pulling a wet suit on and off them so much.

I agree that December is very iffy for swimming weather. We were there the week before Thanksgiving last year and only managed to get one day of pool time in and even that was borderline. If your current bathing suit is still wearable, it might be sufficient for this trip and then would give you more time to find one next summer.

Disney gift shops commonly have a basic black bathing suit with a Mickey Mouse logo.

Contemporary may have some variety, but Grand Floridian and Yacht & Beach have largest selections. Costs are not outrageous.

There is also a little boutique inside the Dolphin, and it is on the pricier side relatively speaking.

<my wife is in the fashion industry, she window shops>

I would absolutely go with lands end. Order a variety, have them shipped to your local Sears, try them on. Immediately return the ones that don't work. You can return right at the counter.
