I already have a week booked at VGF, but wanted to try to add another 6 days with our other points the week before.

I will be missing points and wanted to buy the 1 time points from DVC.

Can I book the first 5 days of my stay online, then 1 hour later when MS opens add the 6th day?? Or will they make me wait for the 7 month period from that 6th day??

If you are booking at 7 mos out I'd call just like you indicated above ABD ask to buy those extra points. Points can't be bought at the 11 month mark. I don't know if you are booking right now for 7 or 11 mos and don't know anything about VGF. Just answering the general question.

And actually you can call the day you book the other days. Or call to have them book them. You can also call the ahead of time to discuss strategies. They are pretty good with their advice.

At 7 months out, or less, you can book the 5 or 6 nights online at 8 am. Then at 9 am you can call and add a night, requesting to buy the one time use points.

You don't have to wait for 7 months to open for the added night.

That is what I did for our December ressie.:thumbsup2

As mentioned, you can call ahead of time and ask all the questions you want. They're good about helping.

It is my understanding that you would have to pay cash at the 11 month mark. 1 time points were only at the 7 month mark.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Call MS right away(9 am), but I think you will be fine

I have a ressie for VGF in December, 1 night is cash, but it is in the middle of the stay due to lack of a room being available with points. I made the ressie thru MS

Thank you. I had no idea this could be done. Do you pay the rack rate for the room by doing this?

YEP!!!

with tax, 550 for a deluxe studio standard view on a Wednesday night.

I got 2 nights with points then 1 night cash, then 2 nights with points (the second night being one time points). All were done thru MS. The last night (done with one time points) was added on weeks after.

They said I should not have to switch rooms....I pray I do not. All ressies are linked.

Oh I forgot to ask...is there a DVC discount on that rack rate room?

At 550 (with tax) I doubt it!

Frankly, I did not ask, but since i had MS make the ressie, I assumed (and that may be a bad idea) that I got a DVC rate if there is one.

I am toying with the idea, that if there is a slow season discount (there usually is in early Dec.) and if it is available at VGF, i might cancel and rebook. However, the last thing I want to do is be switching rooms (its already a split stay) and I do not want to do anything that may increase the chances of that.

DVC rooms can come with a 25% discount. But it not always available. I would call MS to check to see if your room is eligible and if it is, was the rate you were charged the discounted one.

Never assume anything where the CMs are concerned....it's always better to ask directly...
