I voted "1 or 2 nagging concerns" - but they were big ones for me: wrong resort and wrong UY year. We tried buying what we wanted (BWV, Dec UY) through resale -- but the deals kept falling through. We finally decided to go through DVC, met with a guide, gave our credit card and waited. After a series of calls from the guide, we gave in to the then not-yet-open SSR instead of BWV ... but were still completely surprised when the contract arrived with the wrong UY (Oct vs Dec). The guide claimed it was a mistake and would be corrected ... but it never was. I held on to resentment over the transaction for at least two years ... but eventually came to embrace both the resort and the UY. We've had no trouble booking what we want (BWV) at 7 months, enjoy the recent changes to banking rules and now find ourselves looking forward to our first SSR stay this December in a Treehouse!Low Degree--felt pretty certain DVC was for us, but still had 1 or 2 nagging concerns.
Absolutely no buyer's remorse for me.
Thanks for your kind words of encouragement! Enjoy your VWL, AKV and BLTto bwv bound: we purchased ssr first and bwv second. we were not as familiar with the other resorts at the time we purchased and should have done more homework. there is nothing at all wronge with those 2 resorts but they turned out not to be the ones we just fell in love with.
we sold ssr and bwv and purchased vwl. we then purchased akv as soon as it went up for sale to dvc owners. we have now purchased blt and think we will love it as much as the other 2.
use your pts to stay in other resorts and decide which you like best, then if you are not very happy about your home resort you can resale it and purchase another.
dvc seems to be the only time-share/vacation club that will resale if you need to sale.
the key is----you can hardly go wronge. mistakes are changeable with dvc.![]()
