Has anyone purchased from either of these companies? They each have the item I want for nearly the same price. They both seem to have many positive reviews, but I am over cautious when it comes to internet purchases.

Thanks for your help!

I just bought a nikon d40 from buydig.com about 2 weeks ago! I would recommend the site!

I don't know about JR.com but buydig is very reputable and they're often recommended on this board. I've purchased from them several times, I always select free shipping and I always have my purchase within 1-2 business days.

I haven't bought anything from BuyDig or J&R and I've never had a problem with either of them.

I'll put in a plug for JR.com- I've used them a few times and have always had a positive experience. My recollection is that they process orders quickly and I always have my orders within a week of ordering just with regular shipping.

Sounds like you have good options with both buydig and JR.

Thank you to everyone who replied. (Even Mark :rotfl2: )

I found a lower price at another online place, but I think I will definitely buy from one of these two since you guys have had good experiences with them.

I appreciate your help!

Was your lower price at Beach Camera per chance? - they are the same company, they just don't freely admit it, but they are in the same building, same address, just different phones. The local BBB has them both owned by the same company. BBB - Beach Camera and BBB - BuyDig , though I see that recently BuyDig has added an additional address. I thought that their web sites looked awfully familiar, right down to identical wording in the customer service areas. There is nothing illegal about this, but why would one company seemingly compete against itself. It doesn't smell right to me, and so I stick with B&H, Adorama, and J&R.

Interesting - actually it was not that site - I don't remember the exact website... but I checked out the one you mentioned and it did not look familiar. I ordered the item (a camcorder) from JR..... hopefully before they ran out of stock. It's not on the website anymore!! :headache:

Beach Camera is generally top-notch, I've been very happy with them with any of my purchases. (Except that they were slower than everyone else getting the K20D so I canceled and bought through Amazon instead, which is good as they lowered the price a little and there's a 30-day price adjustment so I'm getting some money back!) They are apparently the same as Buydig but I've never ordered from the latter.

I hadn't thought about Beach, they're always highly recommended also. I've purchased cameras and/or accessories from them a time or two also since they're the sister site to buydig.

Well I ordered from JR and more than 24 hours later there is no action other than the order says "processing". I just hope if they are unable to fill the order they let me know ASAP so I can order the item elsewhere!

Fingers crossed!! :)

I ordered a Canon S5is from buydig.com on sunday morning(5/30) buy sunday night i had my fedex tracking number, and i will have it by 4/1. All that even after me messing up the shipping address zip code, called buydig about a half hour after i noticed, was on hold for like 5 minutes and they corrected it.

Beach Camera is the name of their retail store. I am pretty sure that Buydig was their first online venture. I believe that they opened the Beach website to play off the good reputation of their retail store. Why would you say at they are competing against each other when the end dollar is going to the same person?

That's what I love about buydig and beach, I've ordered as late as 3:00 or so in the afternoon and I've had my email confirmation within an hour or two and the item has been delivered to my door within 1-2 business days, one time my order was even delivered on a Saturday...and I always select free shipping!!

J&R music world is fine. They are going to call you to verify your order -- that's why it's showing pending. When I bought from them it was fine. They simply call the number associated w/ the credit card (I know because I put my cell number for contact info, but they called my house at 8:45 AM one morning) to verify you placed the order. The next day my order changed to processed and I was able to track it online. I got it in 3 days even though I ordered via UPS Ground. There was no high pressure sales upgrades, etc, like the bad retailers.
