Hi guys,

My DW and I have booked Florida last week of october for 2 weeks. We're landing in Miami and after 3-4 nights we'll move by car to Orlando.

I could really do with advice on the following please;

Do i book now or wait for deals later on?

1) Where to stay in Miami at South Beach hotels? Who to book through?
2) Is alamo the cheapest for car hire?
3) In Orlando, we're looking for the best price on medium range hotels e.g. BVS, Caribe Royal, Doubletree etc etc. Where do i look into this?

Thanks,

What re you plannong on doing while in Orlando? Are you coming for WDW or will you be spending time at other attractions. You may want to wait until the end of June to book. Disney should be coming out with a new deal for October at around that time. Check these boards often for updates.

Oh, we definitely want to do the parks. We usually buy the 14 day disney and universal tkts for uk visitors. This way we have no restrictions on movement.

Thanks

Oh, didn't notice the UK in your profile. There is a special for UK visitors available for your date that must be booked by July. It includes free dining, and a 14 day pass for the price of a 7 day pass. I gound it on the moasesavers site

Current offerings exclusive to UK residents:

Enjoy FREE Disney Dining at selected Walt Disney World Resort hotels PLUS get a Disney's 14 day Ultimate Ticket for the price of a 7 day Premium Ticket! Book through Virgin Holidays by 15th July 2009 for stays completed between 2nd August - 17th December 2009.

Not sure if this is a good deal for you or not. I think the prece difference between the 7 day UK ticket and the 14 day UK tclet is nominal.

Hi and thanks,

did have a price-up of that deal but not sure it is a saving. Its a disney property and so more expensive than off-site. The stay would be $1400 plus the tickets another $700 just to get a counter service meal each day?

Am I not able to stay outside in a 3-4* hotel and save or is this deal reasonable for 11 nights?

Cheers.

In South Beach we love the Loews Miami Beach hotel.
You can check out the resort on the Loews website, and I book directly through them. They are fantastic!

It is beautiful, great views, wonderful restaurants, spa, pool and beach area.
Excellent location, short walk down to the Ritz (they have a great beach bar/restaurant). Nice easy walks to most everywhere.

Short taxi ride if you want to catch something at the theater one night.

As far as rental cars, the prices on them change more often/quicker than they do on airline tickets. So, keep watching, make a reservation, and check it every once in a while to see if you still have the best rate. If you are a Costco member, that is where we usually get the best rate. Also, whichever company you book with, get their preferred guest card so you can have easier pick up/drop off of the car.

In Orlando...the resorts you are looking at, check out the Swan or Dolphin...if you will be spending time in the Disney area. Or the Loews Universal resorts if you are spending time in the Universal/Sea World area.

Oh, and you can also get a Loews first card! Might give you some perks.

Hi,

Had a look at south beach hotels and loews is looovely. Should i hang on for offers in October or are there discounts on hotel sites i could try?

Cheers
