I heard on the news that GE has donated $10,000,000 dollars to help the families of victims of the terriorists' acts. I, for one, will consider their generous donation the next time I buy an appliance.

I'm an ex-GE employee and have always thought highly of the company. This just proves my instincts were correct!

If people hear of other companies parting with some of their "bottom line" to help, please post. I think we need to support these companies.

Just ordered a GE dishwasher last week. Of course, I couldn't have known that GE would be so generous then ( they just make good dishwashers), but I'm sure glad I bought one of their products now.

Way to go GE! Now how about the rest of the companies who have profitted to such a great extent from doing business in this country?

My husband is a Sears employee. They were told today that Sears is donating a million dollars to the relief effort in whatever capacity, plus providing whatever cleanup equipment they have available. They have also set up a relief fund where customers can donate at any Sears register, using cash, check or credit card.

GE is one of many large corporations that are donating large amounts of money for various aspects of this operation. Microsoft is also donating millions of dollars as well as equipment. There is a medical company that I can't recall the name of at the moment that is donating supplies for burn victims as well as money. These are but three of many. It is nice to see them stepping up and lending the resources that they have.

I just received an email stating that Texaco and Chevron(who will be merging next month) have each pledged $5 million for a total of $10MM.

State Farm is donating one million dollars to the Red Cross and is also planning to match donations made by it's employees. This is in addition to many donations that State Farm has made to the Red Cross over the last few years.

Okay, I like State Farm again. This is extremely generous in sight of the fact that they may lose a lot of $$ when they begin processing claims. I had questioned State Farm in the past because of what I perceived as a lack of community support. I stand corrected!

BTW Coll0610, we are virtually neighbors (I live in Normal).

It makes us proud to be Americans. They may hurt us, but no one can break us!
