Buy Blue Man Group Tickets now or later?

I contacted US/IOA and found that I can't buy BMG tickets for the AP price until our AP's are activated - which will be the first day on our trip. I also check Groupon and the dates they had for BMG were far before our trip. So - if we waited to buy tickets until right before we went, would there still be good seats left? We have another option - there's a special performance that isn't as intense on one day that we'll plan on being there. The price will work out to slightly more than AP if I did it correctly, but less than regular.

When is your trip? Travelzoo is offering Tier 1 seating through the end of October for $49.

The beginning of December so neither Travelzoo nor Groupon will work right now. We won't get our AP's activated until the first day of our trip.
