Buy beer mug ahead of time?

Is there any benefit to buying the beer mug ($15) ahead of time or is it the same price on the ship? It's one of the options under Onboard Gifts (along with 6 beers for $33!!!!).

I have no personal experience with it, but snother thread answered that the mug is availabe onboard for the same price.

In one thread someone pointed out if you get the mug after it leaves port it is duty free.
