Buy A Brick ???

We want our kids to spend very little on us for Christmas, so we thought they could all chip in and buy us a brick in the sidewalk at one of the parks. But I thought I read they stopped doing that. Then, there are the photos at Epcot. Can someone tell me what type of lasting memory can be bought that is permanently at a Park??? Only a month till Christmas !!!

At Epcot thay take your photo or you and some one 2 max in phot. It will then be ingraved on to a stone wall at entrance of epcot. I't will stay there for 25 years I think thay said. We did for my DD. But you must go there for them to take your photo.

It is called Leave A Legacy. The cost is approximately $35 for one image and $38 for two, but you may be entitled to a discount if you are an AP. It is adjacent to Spaceship Earth.

There are several people on DIS who have done that and have shared their photos. They aren't exactly ingraved in stone though. Your photo is put on one inch of a big metal sheet that is then pinned to granite when the sheet is full. This usually happens within 48 hours of your photo being taken. So if you want to see it by the end of your trip, be sure to make this one of your first stops.

If you are interested in doing this, you go to one of the Photo Capture Stations nearby. You get mailed a certificate telling you the location of your tile so that you can easily find it in the future. As well, computers are there to give you your coordinates.

Here is a picture of our two we have there. My DS, Vince and DD, Natalie, are in the middle row, second from the left, DW, Marie, and I, middle row, to their right. We had them done in '99 on our family trip. I really enjoy stopping by, each visit, to take a look, take a picture (always the same one, LOL). It sems like just a part of us, there at the World, in front of Spaceship Earth. I am pleased with them and glad we did them.
