I have an early August trip planned, 8 days split between WDW and Universal. We're staying onsite at Disney Caribbean Beach and plan to get a 3 day hopper plus pass, along with MDE to and from the airport. I was originally going to buy a Universal two day park to park ticket and get one night at Royal Pacific for Express Pass to cover both days at the end our trip. Now that they're offering the buy 2 get 3, I'm considering another day at Universal possibly a Volcano Bay day as well. I'm assuming Volcano Bay is better than the Disney waterparks, so it will be a matter of getting to the park that will be a challenge.

What would be the best use of this offer? We've never been to Universal before and want to do all things HP and bigger rides. I would consider another night at RP to get the most of our stay.

I'd do what it seems you're considering above:

• Get the Buy 2, get 3 days free (might as well since it's the same price as just for 2 day tickets)
• Book 2 nights at RPR so then you'll get 3 days of Express Pass usage in the 2 main parks (because you get it for day of checkin AND day of checkout plus any days in between)
• You DON'T get express pass for Volcano Bay with the RPR stay, so just go there on one of the days that you're not staying at RPR. You could take an Uber maybe. Price estimate on Uber.com from Caribbean Beach to Volcano bay say $16.

Don't forget that adding Volcano Bay also adds $55 to each ticket as you will need the 3-park ticket vs. the 2-park ticket.

I was thinking of using the 3 park Universal Pass to eliminate the hopper plus on the Disney side. We would go to Volcano Bay instead of the Disney water parks.

The thing about the Disney water parks is that you have both water parks to go to. However, you might save more if you're doing the park hopper for three parks for Universal rather than Disney, if you buy two and get three at Universal.

We're definitely doing park to park at Universal. I'm considering the 3 park option as an alternative to the Disney Hopper plus, mainly due to Volcano Bay being available 5 days.

I would always recommend park to park if it's an option for you, simply because it's so easy to get between the universal parks, so unlike Disney you could end up going between them 3-4 times a day depending on what ride you want to do, especially with express pass.

When we visited last September we had the same tickets (2+3 free) and when we visited guest services it turned out we could upgrade to the basic Annual Pass (seasonal) for free, so it could be worth looking into that when you're there!
