Could anyone please tell me if "REAL" butter is on your table in the dining rooms or do they have margarine? I am such a real butter NUT!!!!!!!!!! I would like to know if I should bring it from home. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply.........Does anyone know if they have butterin the kitchen , or if it would be available on request, or should I just plan on bringing my own?

Hi 5boys

They do indeed have butter in the kitchen. We just had to request it once and our assistant server had it ready on the table for us every night. Warning however - it is the unsalted variety. If are used to salted butter, you have to add your own salt.

rcomputers,

Thanks so much.....There is nothing like pancakes and butter. I will diet for months just to eat EVERYTHING I can think of and see in just one week cruise. And Mickey pancakes and waffles need lots and lots of butter!!!!!YUM!!!!!

We had butter in individually wrapped "pats" on our Magic cruise 2 weeks ago. I purposely noticed this because I don't like margarine much.

Edited to add: I see that everyone else answered "margarine". I could swear we had butter  Maybe I was on the Twilight Zone cruise or something. LOL

What they have on the ships is something called "European Blend." Don't know exactly what that means, but it's good, IMHO. I also know I've looked in every grocery store around here and no one has it. I also prefer REAL butter. This may not have been real butter, but it was yummy. Course, dry toast would be yummy onboard a Disney ship! ;)

I was just reading a Frommers book on cruises last night at a book store and they say that DCL uses butterine, a combination of butter and margarine.

Just a sort of off topic comment. I just read some survey that found that most kids today margarine since that is what they grew up with.
They feel about butter the same way most of feel about margarine.

Ugh. I despise margerine! I'm so glad you posted this, I'll be sure to ask for butter!::yes:: All these Atkins months with no warm bread and butter....Margerine will just not do!:snooty:

I had butter and I think it was the small pats, but I do remember having to ask. I know because I am freakish about not eating any trans-fats. Okay animal fats aren't great either, but trans-fats are even worse.

Just in case I would like to pack some butter in my suitcase. Does anyone know if this is allowed? Can I take it on the plane? This might seem like a silly question. I was sitting at the computer and just GASPED when I read MARGARINE. My husband sayed "Honey whats's wrong?" I replied "they serve margarine and not butter". My husband laughed and went over to our DO NOT FORGET TO TAKE LIST!!!! And put butter on top. He says he doesn't want to listen to me complain the whole trip. LOL. But I was brought up on Land ol lakes. And I guess I am known as the person who Has a little bread with her butter.

They do have butter on the cruise -- they have to. I can't imagine running a kitchen of that size without having butter for desserts and other dishes. You can't make escargot with margarine.

If you look on the character breakfast menu, one of the items is pancakes "served with whipped butter".

I know that we had butter on the Wonder 2 years ago; I was pregnant and very anti trans fats, and I wouldn't have eaten margarine.

Even if it's not on the table, you can ask for it.

There is both butter and margarine I perfere margarine you can tell by the package one is silver and one is gold.

Don't Topsiders and Beach Blanket have butter at the buffet in those little packets?

*edited to say that reading this thread, I seem to remember "suffering" thru Euro-blend at the buffets*

Well, visions of your clothing saturated in melted butter aside, I'm certain there's no FAA regulation prohibiting the transfer of butter across state lines. I'd freeze it pretty darn solid (and we all know how hard butter freezes), wrap it in a gallon ziplock bag, and put it in your carry-on.

But seriously, it's just a condiment. I hope you're not really serious.
