I thought I had read somewhere that there was a place at Epcot where you could get the rum spiked dole whip. I saw Tamu Tamu at AK but is there also a place at Epcot? TIA

A couple of years ago they offered it souring Flower and Garden. Not sure if they did last year or will again this year.

Last year at the Flower and Garden, they sold Pineapple Soft-serve with either Sammy's Beach Bar Red Head Macadamia Nut Flavored Rum or Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Coconut Rum at the Pineapple Promenade booth.
At the Food and Wine, the Refreshment Port sold the Pineapple Dole Whip Soft-serve with Bacardi Coconut Rum.

I'm not sure if there is a difference between the "Pineapple Soft-serve" and the "Pineapple Dole Whip Soft-serve", but that is what they were called in the passport booklets.

Money. The difference is money. When Dole pays to put their name on it, it's there. When they don't, it's not. Otherwise it's the same product

1) Actually, it is a licensing (fee) problem.
. . . Disney does not like to pay on-going fees or royalties
. . . tis goes from music to food
2) There are only two locations that are allowed to use the Dole name.
3) The other three locations can only call the drinks pineapple.
4) However, they are the same.

Licensing fee. Money. All the same to me. Either it's paid for or it's not paid for. When it's paid for, the name is there. When it's not, it's not.

I think that the reason the poster replied is because it sounds like it is the opposite of what you said. Disney has to pay to use the Dole name. As opposed to Dole paying Disney to put their name on it.

Ugh, I forgot all about the Dole Whip with coconut rum. Can't wait for the F&G fest this year!!

1) Alas, Disney does not like to have recurring payments to anyone.
. . . even when it enhances the Guest Experience
. . . Money-is-Money
. . . Period
2) That is the reason they no longer have a Christmas version of Country Bear Jamboree.
3) Also, why they had to change songs at Hoop-Dee-Do-Review.
4) Both attractions had music for which the writers demanded royalty payments through ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers).
5) And, yes, we heard rumors that Disney was furious that ASCAP demanded payment.
6) So, they paid some back royalties and either deleted the songs or altered/rewrote them.
.
NOTE: That is why when your hear background music at places such as Wilderness Lodge lobby music, the songs are either in the Public Domain as originally written or are so old they we no longer under Copyright and are thus in the Public Domain. (You also will not hear the song "Happy Birthday" anywhere in WDW, as it is still protected and WDW would have to pay a royalty to use it every single time, just like when it is played in a Juke Box.)

Most places that perform music purchase ASCAP or BMI blanket licenses to play whatever is in the catalog, I can't believe WDW is any different, especially considering that Disney likes to be paid by ASCAP and BMI for its music IP. By the way, more people probably know what ASCAP is than WCTU. I haven't heard anyone mention taking the pledge in quite a while.

I think you can get it at Trader Sam's at the Poly -- Spikey Pineapple

FWIW, the Spikey Pineapple is only available at the outside patio bar. It's not available inside Trader Sam's. It's also a blended style whereas the one at Tamu Tamu is soft serve with rum on the bottom, best eaten with a spoon.

I had the Tamu Tamu version...and ended up mixing it together myself with the spoon after a few bites. If that's what the Spikey Pineapple version is like, then sign me up!

1) OK, Sherman, let's enter the Way-Back-Machine.
2) I even remember getting John Birch Society brochures & pamphlets in our weekly paycheck.
