So I've been trying to talk hubby into a December trip pretty much since we got on the plane to come home in May. Yes, I need help...but I'm sure you all can relate!
Anyway, I was going to try a value, shorter time, etc etc and I just couldn't talk him into it. But me being slightly obsessed continued to check prices for airfare (since there are no room discounts out for December yet) and I found round trip airfare from Newark NJ to MCO non-stop, early morning flight down, late afternoon flight home in December for...

$118 each!!!

Ugh! How can I not go???? We have 4 days left on old tickets for me and hubby, so I would just need tix for my son and obviously a room somewhere. Gently tiptoed into the subject last night with hubby. It didn't go well, especially since I couldn't give him the faintest idea about the discounted rate I expect to find for the room. He still wants to remodel our upstairs bathroom instead. So practical. It really is one of the reasons I love him.

But in the mean time...THIS IS TORTURE!

Thanks! Just needed to vent.

What days are you looking at? I'm looking and the cheapest I can find for our dates is 148.00 out of EWR.

do tell -- what airline? the wheels are turning here now too.

It was mid-week there and back - it was either 12/11 or 12/12 going down, coming back 12/18 or 12/19 - if you put those dates in then do the +/- 3 day thing, you'll see it.
Usually Jet Blue is cheaper - believe me I almost FELL OVER when I saw this - granted it was $118 + taxes, but for the 3 of us it was less than $425 for 3 tickets!
Good luck - I hope someone can take advantage of the cheap flights since I apparently will not be. I am still working on it though...

I was looking at Continental too. I thought jetblue would be cheaper but it wasn't
I'm going dec 6-11.

We average $200-ish pp for flights. For us, I don't think it's worth it to fly down late at night and home early morning to save $100 - I'd rather pay the extra $ and get there and home at times I want - but these were decent flight times too which was surprising. I'm sure they'll be snapped up quick. Are you already committed to Dec 6-11 or could you tweak the days a little bit - although $30 per person probably isn't enough of a difference to re-arrange everything. UGH - I'm so jealous! Have fun!

I have already changed my dates twice so I'm stuck now. I know 148.00 isn't bad but am trying to save as much money as possible. I just switched our hotel from 2 rooms at all star movies to 1 room at POR. I saved about 150.00 on that. I'm excited about this because I have never stayed at POR.
