Doesn't the thought of spring just bring tears to your eyes right about now? I mean, everyone loves that time of year, but I have a feeling that Spring Fever will be an epidemic this year! What's the first thing you're going to do when you finally CAN?

This morning, driving my son to school, shivering, I turned to him and said "look at the pretty palm trees." It's an inside joke, but you get the idea. They make fun of me when we're in FL because I say that constantly. But it's all about appreciating nice warm weather whenever you can.

Walk my dogs!! LOL Throughout the cold weather, I've been letting them out into the backyard. You can't pay me enough to take them for a walk right now.

I am worried about my landscaping. Some of it is really suffering under the weight of all the snow.

The first thing I'm going to do is plant some flowers. :flower3: DF and I live in a second story condo, so I can only plant flowers on my deck.. but my deck looks really sad right now. There's about 3ft of snow piled up because I refuse to shovel it. I'm ready for some gerbera daisies and tomato plants and peppers.

Yeah, I have a feeling that spring is going to bring a whole lot of hard work with it. The deer have eaten everything above the snow line and pawed up patches of my lawn...

Spring? What is that? Is that the mythical time of warmth and flowers between winter and summer? Yeah, we don't have that here in Michigan.

Springtime? The time of allergies and yardwork? Not looking forward to it here - winter is a lot easier. I don't have to run the snowblower nearly as often as I have to mow the lawn, and the driveway is considerably shorter besides.

OTOH - once it warms up, we can start walking around the block more often, so the kids are ready to stay on their feet at Disney.

You remember spring. It's that magical time in Michigan with all the mud and potholes that can swallow your entire car in one gulp.

So springtime is a precursor for Disney for you??? Oh just mow your lawn and count your blessings!

Tell me about it. I planted hundreds of bullbs. I have an early riser peaking it's head out of the snow.

Now I did plant crocus which can come up early so I have my fingers crossed.

My azealas are NOT looking good. This is their first winter so I am hoping that I do not have a lot of die back and get flowers.:guilty:

The tulip stems are sticking up about 2inches from the ground in my yard. Every morning, while taking my dogs out, I look at them and sigh.......

I can't wait to see those tulips.

Tired of all the snow/ice :cold:. The sun is out and it's melting, but has a long way to go. :guilty:

Yes, we're very anxious for spring ~ it will no doubt be a lot of work to get things back in shape,
but on the bright side there are our nice walks in the country, our crocus, daffodils, tulips and fragrant lilac bushes to enjoy. :flower3:

Meanwhile I wish we were basking in the :sunny:, on a relaxing :boat:, headed to an exotic :beach:. :lmao:

I'm looking forward to going to the Farmer's Market. I rarely miss a weekend trip to ours in the months they have outdoor vendors, hopefully just one more month. I love looking at all the flowers :).

No, spring is a precursor to the oppresive heat and humidity of summer, the culmination of which will be to head down to Disney in August.

Teaching DD to ride the bike Santa brought her for Christmas that she has YET to get on (other than INSIDE my house). Also, to be able to lounge in a chair on my deck with a good book on a lazy afternoon!

I just want to open up all my windows and air out the house. That is what I'm waiting for.

I know I'm in the minority but I abosultely HATE spring and am dreading it! The bugs come out, it starts staying lighter longer, the rain, thunderstorms, tornados. Its the worst season. I love fall and winter and tolerate summer but spring...blech.

I'm usually anti spring because all the thunder storms freak me out! It's not the thunder or lightning or power outages, but the chance of tornadoes (incredibly minuscule chance, but I'm a paranoid freak about it none the less) But! This year I have a basement! Yay!!!
I'm ready to break out the mosquito repellent, and sit on the back porch with a book while my kids hunt for worms and play in all the mud I'm sure this snow will leave us with!! I'm ready for an Easter egg hunt, grilled meals, and taking evening walks! Winter and Fall are my favorite seasons, but this year I feel ready for some warmer days! Oh and I'm ready to not have to hunt out jackets, gloves, and hat's every morning!

It'll be fabulous that first day where a wind from the south will blow warm air on my face. And the smell of the earth coming back to life. I've decided winter has no smell whatsoever. Spring smells earthy and damp, and I love it!
