Any suggestions on where to eat. We will land at 5 pm dad is a diabetic so will need to eat. We would normally go to Earl but I think dad will be exhausted from day of travel. We have qsdp for that night. We are staying at okw but we were hoping for q counter service with a bit more choice but something quick and close. We have a car

It is thanksgiving for us and I would love to go out for a sit down meal but it is not possible. First and last time my parents will ne joining us so I am super excited. Dad is on renal diet so anywhere with more choices would be good. I was thinking ssr?????

Wolf Gang Pucks in Downtown Disney is great and is a CS... guess you know can upgrade to TS for $11 per day per adult...and if so Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic kingdom has family style meal with turkey and all every day and is good as well but 1 TS meal.....:surfweb:

thanks yes i think dtd is too much for my dad on the first night otherwise i would have gone to earl....ts is not a $$$ issue but rather a time issue. I have two kids so they will have spent 8 hrs either on planes or cars to get there they will not want to sit for a ts.

I am looking for a good QS (no park ticket) that is close to okw. I think SS|R has a few more choices than okw so we will do that is nothing better is mentioned....I have never been to poq is that close with better food options?

POR or POFQ will definitely have more choices that even Artist Pallette at SSR. I would suggest POR. Their food court is larger than the one at POFQ. You would just take a left out of OKW, and then a right, traveling past POFQ to get to POR.

DTD is close too. Not sure why you don't want to drive there or take the boat, and eat at Wolgang Pucks in the Marketplace. Do you think the kids would be insisting on World of Disney?

A lot of people really like Olivia's. I know it a TS, but maybe others can chime in about the service -- don't think it would be too long for your children to wait.

i know that dtd is close but it is a bit of a walk from where you park to where you go to eat and is just too much for my dad the day we get there after 8 hrs of travel... I will check out por food court. We have eaten at olivias a bunch of times the kids just won't want to sit for a meal.

I would try for Wolfgang Puck express at the marketplace end of DTD. I would however take the bus as the walk from there is probably about the same , maybe a little longer than POR food court from where you park. Take a left at the kids splash area and follow that path and you save some steps. You could borrow a wheel chair from OKW if needed. Of course if you do that Earl is back in the possibilities.

Hand carved turkey sandwich was on the menu ath AKL Mara QS last week.

Pollo Campero/Fresh-A-Peel in DTD is just across from T-REX (i.e. close to Parking Lot if you find a spot). They have grilled chicken (aside from fries, they have rice and beans, plaintains, yuca fries, etc as sides) and wraps with healthy dessert options (we packed trail mix, almonds and yogurt pretzels).

We **love** QS at Mara @ AKL.. it's not huge but we did find the variety was good with nice healthy choices. Additionally you can be pretty relaxed there after your meal if you like leisurely stroll through the lobby etc. Sit by the campfire for a while assuming it's on that night.

I wish I was at WDW for my Thanksgiving ;)

Pop Century has a great food court. Let your Dad look at the offerings then he can find a table while another person in your party gets the food.

Mom & I often drove over to POP form OKW for a good CS meal. Earl of Sandwich is also a good choice, but it is more walking (and harder to find parking) at DtD, and the boat dock for the OKW>DTD boat is quite a hike to Earl of Sandwich.
