I've had 5 (yes, 1....2.....3.....4....5) root canals done (I've busted my teeth many different ways, leaving no alternative but root canals). Luckily, technology has gotten better for this procedure in the past several years and should not be too much of a problem for you. Good Luck!

Mine was also supposed to be on the first, but yesterday I realized while looking at the calendar, that if I didn't make it later, we wouldn't have any food money for a week.! Yikes! So now mine is for April 10.
Now here's hoping and praying that the Aleve holds me until then.

I had a root canal done about two years ago. Since I find the noise to be so annoying I brought a CD and disc player with headphones. This relaxed me and also covered up a good deal of the noise. I didn't have anything to put me out because I take too long to recover from that.

My Doc has the CD and Headphones in her office....when she gives me that, I know that she KNOWS I am tense! It sure does relax me though.

Sorry to hear you have been feeling so badly. I've had root canals and they really aren't all that bad. The numbing injections are the worst part. Looks like you won't have to worry about those injections, lucky you being asleep for your dental work.

I hope this procedure is easy for you and that you are out of pain very soon.

I just got finished having ALL my top teeth pulled and replaced...DRUGS are painless.....

I feel for you! I am having my 2nd root canal in six weeks on Tuesday. The only difference is I insist upon being awake. This tooth is really bad too. It has abcessed and had a gum boil on it. This one came up really fast and is right next to the other one I had done. This is the 3rd root canal I have had done though. {{{HUGS}}}
