I have made all our plans for the parks based on the Britts Guide (of course!), but I am now a little confused after coming accross this site There seems to be a few conflicts. For example, we are planning to go to AK on Saturday as it is down as a quiet day in Simons updated page, but on that site, it is down as a park to avoid :confused3

Any thoughts?

I have never really given this much credibility because so many factors can alter what happens and - as you say different sites/publications show different information.

personally I have never worried about it and over many years have never really noticed a huge difference in crowds on any particular day. It is far more noticable in terms of which month you go not which day of the week.

I was in panic mode last Wednesday when i realised that when i had originally done my plan and booked all my ADR's the busy and quiet days have altered since!!! I was going to alter some of my days and then i suddenly thought "oh what the hell" i'm just going to go with the flow - could we really tell the difference between a busy day and a quiet one :confused3

it depends what time of year you're at WDW.....in July it absolutely does make a difference what days you hit the various parks....
for example, if you go to MGM on the morning following an EMH evening it will be deserted for the first few hours.....even in July....(in other words, if evening EMH was on Sunday night, you would go there on Monday morning)..

tips like that are crucially important if you're visiting the parks in July...
however, if you're there in september, it makes no difference what day of the week you're anywhere.....it's a ghost-town regardless of the day....so following busy/quiet day guidelines is not necessary in september, but an absolute must in July....

I'm sure you're all right. But in the end I brought up both pages and looked for any consistencies. Amazingly in the end I found some. So with my planner now updated, I'll soon see what gives. But as you say disneyholic family, May is not the busiest time, so as long as we avoid the EMH days we should be fine.

Thanks.

I have only ever used Tour Guide Mike.

We are WDW veterans and have always just toured where we want on which days we want. TGM was recommened to us and it has totally transformed our park touring!

He has never ever let us down.. and if he says MK is quiet on whatever day he recommends.. then it is!

We never set foot into a park now without consulting him.

For the $20 or whatever it is.. its well worth it for that alone!

I think brits guide went to publicaiton before the lastest EMH's were released. I amy be wrong, but that would also explain some inconsistancies.

yes, but they have an updated website, which is what you should use for planning purposes.
I forgot the URL. maybe someone else knows it. They keep that site updated with busy days/emh and stuff like that.
I just noticed that simon has a post with the update page: http://www.askdaisy.net/orlando/park_updates.htm

what does EMH stand for :)

Extra Magic Hour(s) - 1 hour am and 3 hours pm, certain parks on certain days for on-site guests :thumbsup2

Our last 2 visits were Nov 2002 and Nov 2003. We stayed offsite in Nov 2002 and on site (AKL) in Nov 2003 and went to the parks on the EMH mornings. All the parks were much busier on the days of EMH. I would avoid EMH mornings if possible.

I use Touringplans for the Disney parks, and Brits guides for the others.
