Busy or quiet- how is your weekend looking?

Busy!

Going to breakfast with the family, then to Mast General Store, and then a Broadway Play (Fiddler of the Roof) then a college b-ball game.
Sunday brings church, packing, cleaning and baking.
Work on Monday and a party.

Happy Birthday 4nana :flower3:

So so here. DD11 had ear surgery today, so we are relaxing tonight. Tomorrow we are going to the Library (always takes hours), then some shopping. I would like to get my eyebrows waxed, and my hair done, but will see. Her friend is coming over after that, having supper, and more than likely sleeping over.

Sunday is laundry day, get back into the school mode day.

We got the tree up and all of that, so I feel good about that.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!:goodvibes

let's see...since my daughter volunteered me to her english class to do all this "victorian Christmas" carp (yes, i know it's misspelled), tomorrow morning will be spent stringing popcorn. she's marching in the Christmas parade at 2:00pm, so it's off to the HS band room at 12:30, then to meet friends to get a good viewing spot. after the parade, more popcorn stringing. i also have to make Lord knows how many loaves of banana nut bread this week, and at least two huge batches of teacakes for this shindig. some days i wish my daughter wasn't so helpful. i was planning to work sunday, if my carpal tunnel is improved.

Busy weekend here. Tomorrow I have choir rehearsal in the morning, then we head to my dad's to celebrate his 91st birthday. I have handbell rehearsal in the evening - our community choir is a part of a local university's Christmas program and rehearsal is tomorrow night.

Sunday is church in the AM (our handbell choir rings during the service), followed by the aforementioned university Christmas program. Then our church choir's Christmas show is Sunday night.

Happily I am off from work on Monday! :-)

Busy

Tonight my oldest had a school function, my stepson had a dance and called to see if he could come over after (as in 1 am :scared1:) So that is eating up tonight.

Tomorrow the youngest DS is throwing a fit to go see Santa so we will get up at the crack of dawn to go see - as DD calls him - the fake Santa (because, Mom, that isn't the REAL Santa....duh) and get their picture made with him :santa:

Then, tomorrow afternoon, DD has a birthday party. So...Saturday I will get nothing of MINE done except we need to go to the tree farm and get our tree or else it'll be another week before we get the chance.

Sunday I will be doing all the laundry/cleaning/shopping for the week that I usually do on Saturday so no rest for the weary this weekend.

Monday it's back to work, I'll probably feel like I've been hit by a bus

Saturday pm my wonderful family is taking me to celebrate my BD, my choice is dinner at Olive Garden, then we'll go C'mas lights peeping

Sunday afternoon DH is taking me out to BD lunch at TGIF :lovestruc

Monday, friends are taking me for a BD dinner outing at a nice Italian Restaurant :dance3:

*luvflorida, love the new pix of sweet Carter ~ he gets cuter w/each photo, and know he'll make your C'mas xtra special!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!party::bday: That's a lot of celebrating!! Enjoy every minute of it!!

Thanks! I'm always saying, "could he get any cuter?!?!?":rotfl: We are just getting the biggest kick out of being grandparents. It is definitely a love like no other!:lovestruc

Luvflorida, that is the cutest little guy! He looks like such a happy boy! :)

Thanks! That little guy is our two-year old grandson, our first grandchild. He is as sweet as he looks, and is indeed a happy boy!! Like every child, he has his moments, but of course, to grandma and grandpa, he can do no wrong!:)

Tomm. we will be packing for Disney

How exciting! Lucky you!

Busy weekend for me.

I'll be shopping for a gown for the Officer's Christmas Ball. It's not for 2 more weeks but a bunch of us wives decided to shop together to get it donewith.
Then we're having a bunch of DHs friends over to watch a football game so I need to shop for munchies.
Then while they're watching the game, I'm going out to dinner with the girls I coach in cheer.

Sunday is church and then lunch with my parents at their house. After that, I want to snuggle up with DH and sleep. He has to be at work at 6 pm until 2 am. I'll try to squeeze some laundry in.

Today, I'm finishing the Christmas decor. It's taken all week!!

Tomorrow, I'm going Christmas shopping with a girl friend.

Busy weekend here as well:) Today's is my Dads birthday so we're heading over there this morning to bring his new LL Bean slippers to him and pick up the Xmas items my family bought for DS so I can mail his packages to Japan today.

The afternoon will be shopping for the ten kids whose names were not picked off the Giving Tree project that I've organized for the past ten years at my company. I do it at my workplace but I am personally responsible for it and I was having panic attacks Wed and Thurs when I saw how many names were left. I put a message on FB to my friends about taking cash donations and put the word around work as well and was able to collect enough money to buy all the gifts. So, I'll shop and wrap those today:thumbsup2

A trip to the post office to mail the boxes for DS once I have them all packed up, a stop at the grocery store for gingerbread cookie mix and my weekly shopping and home by 4:00 to welcome the 5-year old DD is babysitting at my house tonight so they can bake the cookies.

Tomorrow I'm going to tackle this pig stye. I've had an upper respiratory infection for the past 12 days and just starting to feel human again. I managed to go to work every day but then had to hit the couch when I got home from exhaustion so nothing has been picked up or cleaned in weeks:scared1:

I agreed to meet with DB and DSIL mid-afternoon tomorrow and help them sort out their insurance options. DSIL works at the same company as I do and our annual enrollment period ends on the 10th. They have changed all our insurance choices and are now offering far inferior products. DB is self-employed and has other options available to his family so we're going to look at everything closely, crunch some numbers, and...

So, looks like I'll be busy, very busy. Hoping to score tickets to the Pats v. Jets game on Monday night and if I do, I'll be straight out until Wednesday again. Boy, I'm getting tired just typing this:rotfl2:

"Happy Birthday, 4nana - and many. many more!!!"

---------------------------------

I'm waiting for the crew to roll out of bed here so I can crank my Christmas music up and start tackling my list of things to do..:santa:

Oh yeah, Monday evening we'll be watching the Patriots/Jets game!! Patriots fans here!!

we will also be watching the Pats on monday night football:thumbsup2

today is quiet, when hubby comes home from work, I am going to do a little shopping, tomorrow we are getting our christmas tree, and I will finish putting up all the inside decor.

Happy Birthday and have a wonderful birthday weekend! Sounds like you are going to have a great time and get to eat lots of yummy foods!

So today I went and got my hair cut. Decided I would grow it out so we had to figure out a cut that would look cute, but make that easy. I am so happy with what we decided on.

Then we finished up some Christmas shopping and got some lunch. Now I have to finish that stupid accounting homework even though I have no clue what I am doing .

Today my dd is having her 2nd annual tree trimming party here with a bunch of friends. So far I have done the BJ's, CVS, Walgreens and Party City errands. Now home cleaning, putting sauce on for the pasta, making a christmas cake and then onto relaxing in front of the tv for a good christmas movie. Tomorrow I really don't want to do a thing..relax and such, but I have a feeling the stores might be calling me for some christmas shopping :( If not, then it's a nice pj day for me!

Kind of quiet... did some sailing today with a friend in town from the States, and a cocktail party yesterday evening. Tomorrow should be pretty relaxing.

Let's see.. I have some packages that I have to wrap - and then get them ready to ship out via the post office..

(1) Packages are all done.. Will go to the P.O. probably on Monday..:thumbsup2
------------------------------------------------------

I have to try to nail my DGD down (don't know what her plans are for the weekend) for at least 15 minutes or so in order to decide what kind of Christmas cookies we're going to bake this year.. Then I have to look and see what additional ingredients I might need from the store.. (From looking at the calendar this afternoon and seeing what day Christmas falls on - and when her break starts - it looks like we either have to bake next weekend or the weekend after..)

(2)DGD stayed at a friends last night - still not home, so no luck with that..

--------------------------------------------------

I still have to unpack more of my stuff that I brought back from the lake - and get some of it downstairs - but had to wait until DGD and/or her dad were home to help me.. Too many dizzy spells lately and after two falls in 9 months, I don't want to chance falling down the stairs to the basement while I'm carrying a bunch of stuff.. (DGD did help me some earlier this evening before she had to go out with her mom..)

(3) Unpacked a few more things in my room, but DGD isn't here - nor is my Dson-in-law to help me take things downstairs.. (He's at his parents - doing more work on the kitchen remodeling he's doing for them..)

-----------------------------------------------------

Laundry.. I have lots of laundry.. Think I might also take the time to weed through my clothes and see what can be donated.. In the past 8 months or so I've noticed I have quite a few things that I never, ever wear and they're just taking up space.. Might as well donate them to a good cause..

(4) Zip - no progress on that today..:(

------------------------------------------

Write checks for a couple of bills.. (Shoot! Just remembered I was supposed to call my new health ins. co. today with my choice of primary care physician so they could mail me my card and I totally forgot!!! :headache:)

(5) Checks written and surprise, surprise - was able to reach someone at my new health ins. co. today and got my PCP listed!!!! :yay:

-----------------------------------------

Other than that, I think I have a pretty "non-hectic" weekend ahead of me.. Yeah - there's some things I "could" do - wrap all the gifts that have arrived at the house; write a few letters; write out my Christmas cards; - but nothing pressing..

(6) Didn't do any of this today - just not in the mood.. feeling kind of fidgety for some reason.. :confused3

-------------------------------------------------

If I can do all of the above, I'll be happy..:santa:

*The rest will get done - sooner or later..:santa:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!party::bday: That's a lot of celebrating!! Enjoy every minute of it!!

Someone is keeping you busy! My kids are all grown, but I do remember those days of seemingly endless activities.:)

she definitely keeps me on my toes, lol. she's 13, and a really sweet girl, sometimes too sweet for her own good. i know she was trying to help her teacher, but she forgot that mommy's carpal tunnel is flaring REALLY bad right now, and i'm not able to do as much as i usually do. luckily, my grandmother is doing the banana nut bread (she's an amazing cook) and DD has made the popcorn stringing a project for her and my in-laws, so all i have to do is the teacakes, which i think i can manage on tuesday or wednesday, with DH's help. doesn't look like i'll be able to work this week (hands are still somewhat numb), but DD will be very happy. P.S...your DGS is the CUTEST!

Mine will end up being busy, noisy and very fun all at the same time... Headed to WDW tomorrow.. Cant wait!

it's gonna be a busy one, the wife and i are babysitting an 8yr and an 8week old. their mom my cousin had them removed by child welfare for drug use while pregnant with the baby. my aunt(her mom) got temp custody but she needs help with caring for them so the family takes turns babysitting.
the worst part of the situation is the parents don't even care. they make comments like "now we're the grandparents, we get to spoil them and leave" or they tell the 8yr to come home with them, making the grandma the badguy when she tells the little girl that she can't. they haven't even been around to see them since last fri, neither one works. oh they also live off food stamps and SS from her first baby daddy; he was a good guy, worked and took care of them, but he died about 6yrs ago, hence the benefits. after the kids were taken they returned all the baby shower gifts and told my aunt "they didn't need them because they don't have kids anymore".
but they don't know what they're missing these 2 little girls are precious.
