I stopped in Home Depot to grab a few Alien Green Mickeys today, when the paint sample nazi asked me why I needed so many of the same samples. First of all he snuck up behind me and scared me to death.....I explained our little following here and he suggested that I suggest to you we make our own samples because Home Depot has to pay for these samples that we are taking. So in the interest of keeping Home Depot from going Bankrupt from stolen Alien Green Mickey paint chips we should make our own....ha, ha!!! Go gather them all up around the country...it will keep the paint chip stockers busy!!!!! By the way I got away with 10 of them!!!

Yes, we here at The Dis are driving up the cost of paint at Home Depot. Stop it! LOL.

Well Home Depot got a ton of my money this past summer when we had our new Disney family room painted in all the Mickey colors from Home Depot!!

I have to go back and get some more...I had several left from February and must've lost them in our move...Maybe my movers are on "Dis"?! :confused3

Wow - now when I'm in the paint aisle I'll have that theme from Mission Impossible in my head as I sneak through!! pirate:

I would be 99% sure that Home Depot does not pay for samples. The company wanting to sell the paint over their competition at Home Depot supplies the samples :)

Either way, neither of the companies will be bankrupt LOL

There is no way I believe that HD pays for these paint samples - I am certain that they are supplied by Behr (paint company).

Ok if they do pay for them they are what a penny each if even! I got a bunch last time we went and can't wait to put up a few in our windows when we go down!!!

Thats the most exciting part of my 4 & 5 year olds trip to Home Depot!!! If they behave they can pick out some colors (not just the lime green ones) - they aren't reading yet and we have so many we made a memory game out of them!!! :teeth: I don't believe the companies pay for them otherwise we'd be getting charged for them IMHO.

At the risk of getting flamed and being the party pooper, you guys need to know that Home Depot probably does have to pay for these samples you're taking. My DH is in the same business and he says that usually the paint company will provide the initial display and supply of samples for free but the retail store must pay for refills of the samples. Minimum cost for these samples is usually about 50cents each which can certainly add up. Granted, he does not work for Home Depot so can't say for sure that this applies to them but he has worked for several different companies and this has always been the arrangement with the various paint companies. Love the ideas I've seen on here for decorating with the Mickey heads, tho. I just couldn't take more than a couple myself since I know they most likely do have to pay for them. :guilty:

:rolleyes1
Count me in- next time I am in HD I will be sure to go down to the paint section. Besides the paint people had to know that there are creative folks out there who are going to find lots of ways to use their Mickey heads!!
I can see me now going to the paint dept :cool1:

It doesn't matter if Home Depot is or is not paying for these samples. The bottom line is SOME BODY DOES and it's NOT the people grabing hand fulls of them to decorate thier Disney Resort Windows.
