Busses today

There is only 12 express buses which we rode yesterday and it was great! But there is a ton more people imo that are making the parks busier than I have seen before.

Kids out yesterday here in Charlotte but other schools were out all week.

Yeah, it's definitely the holiday crowds kicking in now. Both times that we've been there at Christmas the crowds were pretty tolerable until the 21st or 22nd then it got really crazy. Not just the numbers of people but the mood. I got the impression that A LOT of people arrived around then that had long and stressful travel because there were short tempers and meltdowns galore.
I agree. We just got back today and rarely waited more than 10-15 minutes for a bus. Maybe we were lucky!

Staying at CBR since last Tuesday. Busses have been fantastic! Honestly probably the best we have experienced. We have not waiting more than 10 minutes yet.

Wow. Did they give you any explanation as to why that happened? Considering bus stop 4, it isn't as if the buses would have been full and bypassing you. That's pretty awful.
I didn't inquire as to why it happened. It honestly was the only time during our 9-days that we had an issue with the busses. There were multiple busses that showed up for other parks multiple times that day. All in all we were very happy with the transportation. I suppose any time there are complicated logistics involved there is a reasonable level of mistakes that can be expected. As I mentioned in my PP, guest relations at Animal Kingdom was very understanding and they were able to reschedule our Safari FP and Tusker House seated us with no wait.

Glad to hear they helped you out and you didn't miss out on anything. Glitches like that one is part of the reason I keep emergency taxi money on me at all times. After waiting half an hour, knowing I had an ADR, I would have been getting a taxi.

We were at Coronado during Thanksgiving and had consistent problems the entire week. Wait times were usually 40 minutes every morning. We learned to the first bus that came and use the express bus to hop. Gave up and started driving by the end of the week. Never had issues this bad in the past. Been going almost every yearmsince 2005 and have stayed at values, moderates, and deluxe.

We just left CBR and the buses were fine as far as wait times. But I was extremely disappointed that with MK opening at 7 am the buses BARELY got us there in time. We went to MK both Tuesday and Thursday and we missed the opening show both days (which I had really been looking forward to) and even missed rope drop on Thursday by the time we got through bag check and everything. You'd think that with EMH being at 7 for on-site guests, they'd at least get us there in time for it.

Did you possibly miss the first bus, what time did you get to the bus stop? I stayed at CBR feb this year and I was surprised the first bus was 10 minutes earlier than I was expecting it to be and we lucked out getting to the stop earlier. Of course a lot has changed budget cut wise since that trip so I don't doubt your report, just curious if it's changed that much.

The buses are really hit-or-miss this time of year in my opinion. I'm getting ready to head out for WDW tomorrow morning (well, I guess this morning technically) for my fifth (I think) NYE/holiday trip to WDW, and I can tell you that, on some days, I've had excellent experiences with the busses, but on others, I've been waiting for what felt like hours. It's a result of the extremely heavy crowds (which also create unpredictable heavy traffic)

I would be requesting a ride from Lyft if the bus didn't show up in 10 minutes.

But they say to expect a bus every 20 minutes. Not YOUR bus but A bus. So by only waiting 10 for your bus you're not giving them time to meet their stated standards.

Random question, partially on topic.....can you get a taxi that can carry an ECV?
Mears runs a few wheelchair-lift equipped taxis in the WDW area. You would probably have to call Mears to request one, although I have on occasion seen one sitting at a theme park taxi stand. I don't know how long you might have to wait for one to be available.

I suggest you search the DISabilities board for info, or post about it there.
