Would like to book 6-7 nights at BWI, but have read a few bad things about bus service to this resort. Does anyone have first hand experience? We are looking at Oct-Nov 2005.

Sometimes you have to share buses with the other EPCOT area resorts but I've never had any problems. Only once did we wait a long time for a bus to DTD and then we just took the car instead. You'll love the Boardwalk, it's one of my favorites.

You will not need buses from the Boardwalk to either Epcot or the Studios. You can either walk or take the Friendship boats.
The buses to MK, AK, DTD do share with the other Epcot resorts. We love staying in the Epcot area and really can't complain about the bus service. I know some people have had serious crowding problems but we never really experienced this to any great extent.
Of course, if you are leaving the MK right at closing you will find crowded buses, but that would be true for all the buses.
Anyway, the Epcot resort area is our favorite.

We stayed at BWI for seven nites last year and took the bus to Downtown, AK, Mk,.

We had no problems with the bus service other than very occasionally we waited for longer than the 15 min that we were told the buses run.

The one thing you might find that you do not like is the loop returning from the parks or Downtown is the fact that BWI is the last stop on the loop. Swan, Dolphin, Yahat Club, Beach Club and then BWI.

BWI is a fantastic resort. Great cast members and super location. We walked to Epcot and MGM early in the day and then took the boat back to BWI later in the day. The boat dock is right in front of the entrance.

Do not let what you have heard about the buses stop you from going. We were there end of Sept and beginning of Oct last year and are going first week of Nov. this year. Go and have a magical time !!!

We will be at the Boardwalk in Oct. for a few nights. Like a previous poster stated you will only be taking the buses to MK, DTD, and AK, and the crowds are not as excessive as in the spring and summer. I don't mind riding the buses. Some people complain about sharing the buses with other resorts and crowds on the bus, but I look at it this way...So what if you share a bus an it takes 10 min longer to get somehwere. sit back and enjoy the scenery. Secondly as far as the crowds on the buses are concerned I take this opportunity to PEOPLE WATCH!!! By the time you reach your destination you will be thinking..."my family is o.k.!"

Don't let a bus stop you from bookking the boardwalk!!!! This resort has it all and has the best location!

The Swan is the first drop off and about a 5 minute walk to the Boardwalk Inn. If you don't want to make the other stops, you can get off at the Swan and make the short walk:)

The busses to MK and AK are great from BW, even though they can sometimes offer standing room only, but it is true that the ride back seems to take forever. It is faster to disembark at the Swan and walk through the hotel to the BW than it is to ride all the way to the BW.

I think it's all about perspective. Last year, my SIL stayed at the BW while we were at the GF. She has six children (age 5-12) and spent most of her time at MK. She swore she'd never stay away from the monorail agian. Her complaint was that it took forever to get anywhere. Of course, she was most interested in the MK. DW and I thought that the access from her resort to Epcot and MGM was great, and we promised that we'd stay in that area the next time we were in the World (a promise which we broke because my wife can't go too long without her Polynesian fix).
