Bush Will Win...

You may be a little new here to the boards, so let me give you a little advise - be a little nicer and not so abrasive.

Abrasive? This?

The time has come for you to come into the real world and understand that President Bush is your President, and was fairly elected to the office.

All independent organizations that recounted the votes, came away with the same conclusion. Bush WON FLORIDA. He got the most votes on all the recounts. Every single one of them.

You can cry and scream all you want, President Bush won the election. Pull your head out of the sand.

Get over it, believe it, accept it. But quite crying about it.

And by the way. Bush will be around for 4 more years, and he will carry Florida again.

Seems like you may be reacting more to the content rather than the tone.

He's not going to win because he never got shot at, much less got a Purple Heart or a Silver Star. This will be the first time, ever, my Father -in- Law (Aged 82) votes Democratic.

That's alright. This will be the first time my 18 yo DD will vote Republican.

I don't generally like to get involved in debates...I just wanted to respond to this. Firstly, you were correct when you said you probably don't notice as much when republicans act in an immature way. I think that both democrats and republicans may act immaturely (just using your word, i guess its the best description), as that is something that is linked to the specific person and not their political beliefs. You really cannot generalize either way and say that all democrats are immature. I apologize if that's not what you intended, that's how it came off to me.

Secondly, I definately don't believe any person who is undecided should base their decisions on who to vote for by any of the posts I've seen in this particular thread. They should try to research each candidate to find out who's beliefs match closest to their own. It really comes down to who the person wants to entrust their four years with, and not any biased (its hard not to be when you believe so strongly in "your side") nonfactual opinions they might read here.

Just my opinion....hope I'm not causing any trouble :) Like I said, I dont usually debate! haha :wave2:

You are correct all around. I shouldn't clump all democrats together as immature. That wasn't how I meant it, but it sounds that way. Sorry if I offended anyone. And I know I am biased because of my political views. So when democrats bash republicans I take notice. Most importanly, your correct when you say that a person should do their own research of the candidates if they are undecided (or even if you know who you want). Like I said though, I was venting. I guess that's a bad idea when you are going to post.:(

This will be the 1st time voting for my DD, 21 and my DS, 19. They will be voting for whom they think is the better candidate--Kerry.

Does that mean your 18 year old has voted Democrat in a previous life or something?

::yes:: ::yes:: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Didn't you just as someone else to be nicer?

FYI, there are numerous people on this board with a low number of posts which (for some reason) have had their counters reset. So it's possible for someone to have a low count but in reality it's much much higher.

IOW, dont' assume.

Well if he made it to the highest elected office in the nation by being dumb, imagine what he could do if he was smart.

Whatever, whoever wants to keep bashing me for telling another poster to be nicer - keep on bashing and correcting me. Probably just bitter that Bush WILL lose!

Should have known better than to post ANYTHING on such a sensitive subject, with a bunch of high-strung people in the audience.

Who's bashing? All I did was ask a question and provided you with information you might not be aware of.

(Yea, I know, whatever...)

These are the sections of this post the rubbed me the wrong way. They are condecending and rude... and to someone who is condecending and rude I will be that back to them. For some reason, other people saw the NEED to step in and step all over me. I replied directly toward the person and their post.

Someone claimed that I was just mad about the content... that isn't the case. It is how this poster said it - all tainted in "get over it" attitude.

Want some honesty you Republicans can just get over and deal with?

1) Bush is making everyone in the world hate us. They don't hate the citizens, they hate our government and leaders. Why? Because our government for the last four years has ran over everyone else in the world. But guess who that hatreds gonna get taken out on... it's citizens.
2) The current administration makes Americans look like selfish, renegade, liars.
3) Bush started a life taking, money draining war with a country that had no formal terrorist plans against our country and had no more to do with 9/11 than any other ME nation.
4) Even during the Olympics - Bush doesn't head to cease fire policies. Simply ignores these policies like every other world policy.
5) Continues to support tax cuts that mostly benefit the rich and corporations who send jobs overseas - while even educated people can't find jobs that pay over $9-$10 an hour (in the midwest at least).

I'm sorry but if that little teeny bit of criticism rubs you the wrong way I can't imagine how you make it from day to day without needing to pop a pill of some sort.

Nothing like a little exaggeration to make a point.

More exaggeration.

3) Bush started a life taking, money draining war with a country that had no formal terrorist plans against our country and had no more to do with 9/11 than any other ME nation.

NO ONE (except the kooks) said Iraq had anything directly (or indirectly) to do with 9-11. That's not a reason we went ot war with them.
SH was in material breech of several UN resolutions (or do you disagree?) and as a member nation of the SC of the UN, the US had the authority (given by the UN charter) to break the ceasefire agreement and disarm SH. And as a result it stopped the decades long brutal treatment of 100's of thousand of Iraqi's by SH (but of course, that doesn't seem to even to matter to some people).
SH was known to harbor terrorists and sponsor terrorism but I didn't realize that a country was required to formally announce it's terrorism plans. Seems silly to me to even make that an argument.

4) Even during the Olympics - Bush doesn't head to cease fire policies. Simply ignores these policies like every other world policy.

I'm not aware of a policy regarding the Olympics. Care to point that out with a source? And the second part is more exaggeration.

5) Continues to support tax cuts that mostly benefit the rich and corporations who send jobs overseas - while even educated people can't find jobs that pay over $9-$10 an hour (in the midwest at least).

It's the rich that pay the largest portion of the tax burden and the ones that stimulate job creation so it seems to me that they would get the higher percentage of a tax cut. Doesn't it to you?

Would you like the government to tell you that you can't hire workers in foreign countries?

Please explain (in as much detail as needed) what you would want the government to do to help american companies keep the jobs here.

I'm too tired to respond to your points, although most of what you said was just accusations that I'm exaggerating. Obviously your toward the right, I'm toward the left and we aren't going to agree. It would be nice, however, if you came back with something more than just saying that I'm exaggerating on every point.

Rest assured that you exaggerated in no way: The USA's reputation in the world is already lower than it was during 'Nam'. The only thing which has helped you so far is, that most people know that Bush gained the presidency only due to your outdated electoral system (Gore had at least 572,000 votes more than Dubya) and/or due to the strange things which happened in -what a coincidence:rolleyes: -his brother's state.

Nevertheless, if Bush gets elected this time, America will separate itself from the rest of the world.
You will then learn the hard way, that the world can live without America - but it has yet to be proven that America can live without the world.

I predict there will be a coup at the Republican Convention and a McCain/Powell ticket will come out on top. Their campaign slogan is "We actually ARE Uniters not Dividers" .With amazing bipartisan support, they win in November.

Wait that was my dream last night.

Nevermind.

Theories are usually 50% wrong. I feel thats where the election is right now. 50 for, 50 against. While I favor neither candidate, I feel that our next quarterly report will pick our next President.

I don't disagree with you -- I just find this so weird. Who are these people who do this?????? So it all comes down to $$$ - and not a very good indicator or what will happen with $$$ anyway. They aren't worrying future supreme court judges. Or others the president will appoint? Or health care. Or prescription drugs. Or international policy. Or our soldiers in Iraq. Or abortion. Or women's rights. Or the patriot's act -- all of these things, for or against, liberal or conservative, hawk or dove -- how can you not let them make a very easy decision for you????

These people who are going to look at what the economy is doing "right this minute" -and then vote- is that the only thing they are looking at? :confused3

And for those who say there is no difference -- look a little closer. I have more respect for the guy who argues to death how GWB is the right choice than someone who says there is no difference!
