The Kerry girls will be having a forum at my school at 4:00 today. I would like to ask a question from a dissenting point of view, because 99% of all in attendance will be Democrats and I would like to provide an alternative view. Can anyone think of a really good question?

How about...."where did you get that one dress?"

Seriously, if you will be that out numbered, you probably will not be seen as "making a point" but just end up "making enemies". Not sure I'd say its worth it. If they were campaign workers and you wanted to argue policy that might be one thing. But in this case you'd just be attacking a family member. Probably not cool, IMO.

Yes they are family members, but they are full fledged members of the campaign.

I disagree. They are participating in their father's campaign and therefore have to withstand the political 'heat' just like anyone else. If they were not taking a role in the campaign, they should be left alone.

I'll ponder the question and hopefully get back to you in time!

Seems like the main reason for punching the Kerry ballot is to "Get rid of Bush". I'd like to know why I should vote FOR Kerry, rather than AGAINST Bush.

So, without using the terms "current" "President" "George" or "Bush", tell me why I should vote FOR your dad.

Take the most important issue relevant to your state (jobs, for example), and ask what SPECIFIC STEPS Kerry will do to correct the problem. They will not know.

So that does that mean I could question the Bush twins too or are they "off limits"?

Ask them something akin to whether or not Kerry will condem or at least distance himself from the 529 ads (MoveOn for the libs) or any celebrity that uses crude humor against his opponent.

I realize the first amendment here, however, it does make him and everyone associated to that person/organization look bad when used.

Or, why do they think they were booed at the MTV awards? :)

BTW, if the Bush girls are at an event like the Kerry girls, they deserved to be questioned too. However, like the Kerry girls, I don't think much weight can be given to their answers.

Edited for spelling... Where is the spelling fairy when you need her?

having attended numerous events like that, i'm guessing all questions will be screened anyways.

Why do you need to present an alternative view?

You're simply a member of the audience, not a participant in the campaign. I would imagine if your school wanted a debate format, they would have set it up that way.

Find an issue that's important to you that you don't know Kerry's position on and ask what their father's position on it is.

If they are an active part of the campaign, then they are very much 'on limits'. I will respond to your  with a :smooth: .

Joe - Please let us know what the format is and how everything went....if you were able to ask or question & what you asked.

Ask them; While negotiations with the North Vietnamese government were going on, while Americans were being killed, POWs were being held, what did their father discuss with the North Vietnamese?

I hate those girls. I was so mad when they showed up on the VMAs. And Ben Affleck is out of his mind, they are sooo ugly.

Wow, Twinkles. I don't agree with Kerry, and I'm sure I wouldn't be impressed with their political views. But, I think this is probably a little strong. Also, your comment doesn't really add anything to the topic being discussed here. Not trying to be the post police, just pointing this out in a friendly manner. :wave2:

Too bad you weren't able to post this prior to the speech the Kerry girls made. Great point, again, DawnCt!

Nice post.....I'm sure you make your fellow Republicans proud.

It was an open question format. I had my hand raised longer than anyone, but was ignored most likely because I had a Republican hat on.

Nothing groundbreaking was said. The most interesting thing was when a student said he was a Kerry supporter but apprehensive about Kerry's record of not being firm on anything and being more of a flip flopper. Smoke was coming out of Vanessa's ears.

Cate Edwards was also there, and I found her to be the most down to earth and realistic there. I definetly felt like she understood the problems and concerns of most students.

Vanessa Kerry just seemed way out there and kinda rude. She does not seem open to anyone disagreeing with her.

Alexandra didn't say that much, but she was hot.

Andre Heinz was there, and he seemed the most out of touch of anyone. with. He oozed of being of the rich liberal elite.

Thanks for the update. Could you elaborate with examples. I think it would be interesting.
