From a Disney resort, if you board a bus to DTD, can anyone tell me what stops you can expect along the way &/or what DTD stop you will take? Thanks!

Depends on the time of day.

The first few buses will go only to the MP.

From about 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., the buses will stop first at TL, and then go to the MP.

Sometime between 10 & 11, buses will start stopping at TL, MP, and PI.

After about 11, buses will go direct to the MP followed by PI, stopping at TL on the way out of DTD.

When all guests have left TL (figure around 1 hour after closing), buses will stop going there after PI (so, MP and PI only.)

Finally, sometime late at night (I think 11 p.m. but I'm not sure), MP service will be discontinued and buses will stop only at PI.

Planet Hollywood is right at the PI stop, but it's no too bad of a walk from the MP stop either. Most of the day, PI will be the 2nd stop.

Thanks ;) Our flight in lands sometime after 10am so by the time we ME to our resort it will most likely be close to noon so it looks like we'll be stopping at DTD first.

But then on the way back it sounds like the p/u from DTD will go via TL back to our resort if we leave by 3pm.

P.S. How long would you guess the time is from stop #1 MP to stop #3 TL? I know it's about 12 miles from our resort to DTD so I was just trying to figure out how much time the bus ride is going to take out of our arrival day?

Also the buses don't always go from Resort to TL and DTD. They can also stop at other resorts first. In my expereince the buses almost take an hour to get to DTD. Because of this I either don't go. Or go from a park to POFQ and take the boat down the Sassalouga river.

Doing this you go from a park onto the POFQ maybe combined with POR bus, but POFQ is the first stop for the bus. The Boat is strait through the lobby of POFQ and on the other side of the pool, which is quite simple. The boats don't run often but from POFQ the next stop is DTD and it takes a little under 20 minutes.

An hour, to get from a resort to DTD, whoa, I've been driving way too fast. How about you joelkfla and cranbiz?

Well, I really don't drive DTD enough to say. But from the times I have been at DTD, I know that traffic between MP & TL can be a bear at times. And just getting out of TL can burn many minutes, especially if it's just started raining or if the park has temporarily closed due to lightning in the area.

We get a $15 voucher from Planet Hollywood upon arrival w/our package. It's almost sounding like it isn't even worth going over there if it's going to take this long to travel :confused3

Anybody know how much a cab ride would be from the ASMusic?

You speed demon, you, Magicbus :goodvibes

I can't think of a time (other than July 4th after DTD fireworks) where it takes an hour from DTD to any resort.

It didn't take an hour the other day to get from TL to CBR and we were backed up to POR bus stop. I will say it was probably 35 minutes though. Still, that's an exception, not the rule.

Marketplace buses run until midnight, every night. Saturday nights we run a little longer to between 12:15 and 12:30am. Then everything moved to PI until 2am.

Note: I have been driving DTD regularly for the last 9 months.

Maybe it wasn't an hour but I always felt the buses from the Magic Kingdom Resorts to Downtown Disney and back always seem to take a long time, which is why my family and I have our own car when going there. Although I guess considering the location of the Magic Kingdom Resorts to Downtown Disney that could be one reason.

Thank you for posting :) This encourages me to reconsider going to Planet Hollywood for lunch our arrival day.

We have an ADR at an Epcot restaurant at 7pm so I didn't want too much running around after flying/check in etc. & of course DS will want to take a dip in the pool. I can handle up to a 35 minute trip since both ways would total about an hour vs. it taking an hour just to go one way

Note: I had a lightbulb moment FINALLY when I read your note & saw the buses pictured under your names

No wonder someone in another thread commented on having to get off the bus and walk all the way to Planet Hollywood.

OT: I wish they would modernize and re-imagineer the Typhoon Lagoon driveway during one of the annual winter refurbishings. Specifically make the entrance (upgoing) roadway two lanes and, during peak exit times, cone off one of the lanes just for buses coming down. An officer at the bottom of the hill (or a modified traffic signal) would let the buses out.
