Lord knows, I should know this, but I haven't done Chef Mickey's yet, so I'll see if anyone can help me out.

We have an 8:00AM for Chef Mickey's on a day that the Magic Kingdom opens up at 9:00AM. The CM I just spoke with says there are no buses that run for early morning character breakfasts. I could swear this is false. She said the buses don't start running to the Magic Kingdom until 8:00AM, so we would have to find our own transportation to the Contemporary.

Is this accurate?

If there are buses for character breakfasts, does anyone know what time they begin running at in the morning?

Thanks in advance.

As an example...while sitting dejectedly on a bench, waiting for the DME bus to take me back to MCO in Dec (at POP) I watched several buses picking up folks for breakfasts. It was about 6:45 and while I sat there, for about 20 minutes, about 3 buses came and went.
So, yes, there are buses. But only to the parks. Getting to the different resorts for an ealy breakfast seating is a bit tougher.

Not certain if they have made any changes, but when we were in WDW in May, we had to be at the MK for a private taping at 6:45 a.m. :sunny: :coffee: We checked at Guest Services at Pop and they assured us that buses start running around that time...So, we were waiting outside our resort the next morning and we were picked up and brought to MK by 7:10 a.m. Maybe call Guest Services at your resort directly ahead of time and inquire? Good luck and enjoy the Mickey waffles!!! :mickeyjum :mickeyjum

the *early* character breakfast busses to MK will also stop at the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's - and I believe they will also stop at the Poly and/or GF, though I've never needed reakfast service to those resorts. Just because of the way the bus routes go, they might hit the latter to *after* stopping at MK.

be sure to tell your driver that you need a resort stop, not the MK. I'm not sure what time the busses become "MK-only", but I would guess it might be the time when the regular park transportation is scheduled, at 8.

Yes they will stop at the GF and Polynesian if early enough.

As an FYI, if you have an ADR for the BC early in the morning (before 8AM), take the MGM bus and tell the driver you need to get to the BC. He will take you there.

Buses will start running at 6:30am, give or take. Actual arrival time will vary, as Port Orleans has multiple stops.

It's interesting that everybody has a slightly difference experience with buses for character breakfasts.

We had a 7:30a.m. reservation for O'hana's at the Poly. The bus picked us up shortly after 7am at POR BUT the driver didn't stop at either Poly or CR. The bus went directly to the TTC at MK and then we (and others) had to take the monorail around to the resorts. We got there on time etc and we did get to ride upfront on the monorail :cool1: so it worked out.

I think you can (a) be assured there will be buses running, however (b) you may or maynot get dropped at CR and may have to take the monorail.

Just curious. Did you or the others tell the driver you had ADRs at the resorts?

The early morning breakfast bus drivers don't normally stop at the resorts. But, it seems that if you tell him/her that you have a ADR at ___, they will drop you off at the resort if they have time.

I think there are a lot of people who would never think to ask the bus driver to drop them at a particular spot, or to ask if they can have, what to them, would be special treatment. And that's why these boards are so wonderful. I know that on my first few trips to WDW, I just got on a bus and went to wherever the bus stopped and got myself to where I was going from that particular spot!!! Who knew you could tell the bus driver I needed to go to Chef Mickeys?! But, on the other hand I have had bus drivers tell me that I can get off at MK and then walk over to the CR. Or take the monorail/boat to the Polynesian. Some bus drivers are more accomodating than others.

And I too had one of those early taping sessions in Dec. I completely forgot that. I was on a bus at 7:00...the driver actually said.."I'll bet you'll be at the parade taping today." And then proceeded to give me hints on the best side of the street to be on if I got a choice and other little hints. He was a hoot!!

Thanks everyone for the great tips! My wife and I had ressie's at Chef Mickey's a couple years back, but we weren't aware of what time the buses started running, and we ended up missing it.

This time it seems we should be in good shape.

One more question - Will the early morning character breakfast buses stop at all the Port Orleans bus stops, or just the main ones?
