Please tell me your experience with the buses @ POR. We will have a rental car, we are going to Sea World & outlet shopping. Would it be easier to just drive our rental car & use the free parking at the parks?

We have stayed at POR a few times and have never had a problem with the buses. I would rate it the same as the other hotels. You sometimes have to wait a few minutes to catch one. I don't think you will have a problem.

I've stayed there three times recently, and found the bus service to be at least as good as at the other hotels. And I like the convenience of being dropped off so close to the entrance to each park!

I would recommend just using the car, since you can pick up and leave anytime you want. But, the bus is also a good option, since you then don't have to deal with getting a shuttle and you are dropped off right at the entrance of the park. But, with the buses at the POR, remember that they first stop at the POFQ, then they travel over to POR. Hope this helps!

We were there last week and had no problem with the busses. 5-10 minute wait. I really like getting dropped close to each park, especially the MK (no TTC!). We did drive a few times, especially at night.

You'll have options, which is nice.

Port Orleans gets very good bus service. During the morning hours, busses are staged right inside Port Orleans. They are dispatched to various routes.

Routes can go as follows (but can change at any moment)

FQ -> South Depot
West -> North -> East -> (South)

Last I heard, Port Orleans had a 97% efficiency rating...

I would use the bus to MK, maybe drive to the others. The only other thing you may consider is...leaving EPCOT after Illuminations can be a real pain in a car.

We had a car on our last trip and it never even occured to me to take it to the parks. The bus system was so efficient and easy. Part of the relaxation for me is to let somebody else deal with the details. We parked our car and never touched it again until we left. Also, if we stopped somewhere in the parks for dinner we did not have to worry about who could not have a drink.

We have never had any major problems with the buses at POR.
But using the car is also a good option....6 in one hand..1/2 dozen in the other.

I would vote for the buses.

We have had occasional long waits (20 minutes) for buses at POR. Normally (as already mentioned by other posters), we use the bus for MK and drive to the other parks. We usually take a mid-day break back at the resort. We also use the car if visiting DD and other resorts.

Depending on the time of day, the buses can be crowded and you will have to stand. There is not a good queuing system at the bus stops since buses for many different destinations arrive at the same stop; some unintentional (and maybe intentional?) line cutting takes place.

Limmer I totally agree with you. When I go to Disney with my folks we always have our car with us but it always sits int the parking lot untouched for 3 days. Not having to drive for 3 days is nice. The only time we would drive anywhere is we had to go off disney property for whatever reason, or if we want to go to another resort for dinner and bus service required changing buses at PI or something.
