Hi, I am wondering about the crowds right now at Disney. My dd and I will be arriving next Wednesday July 13th. I get nervous when there are alot of people waiting on the buses. I know I can't stand or walk for long periods, but I also panic when alot of people are staring and me waiting for me to get on the bus with my scooter. :worried:
Thanks

Some people will be jerks about it. There's no way to avoid it. All you can tell yourself is that you don't know their situation just like they don't know yours. They might have had a rough day and feel like nothing is going their way, even if they are at the happiest place on earth, lol. I would avoid the bus at times like right after fireworks if you are nervous about stares. Otherwise, if you sense some serious tension, offer to wait for the next bus. Even if the CM puts you on anyway, you tried and no one can fault you for that.

In the end, if you need the ECV you need it and that's that. No one being nasty or rude will change the fact that you need to ride the bus too.

Thank you Que_Sarah_Sarah. I know you are right. My dd will have a much better time too, if she isn't so concerned about me and the pain I am having. Thanks for stating the obvious, some people will be rude and others will understand. :)

We were there during spring break and had no problems. No comments etc. I did avoid busier times for boarding. We were also there the fist week in December 2010 and only had one comment, which I ignored. I mostly just smile and make the best of it. You will be fine.

Only one time did I have a problem and that was because we were at Blizzard Beach going back to the resort. All the busses were full because they pick up at AK first. I sent my group on ahead of me and just waited until there was a bus to get me on.

I'm glad to see this subject brought up. We're going May 2012 &, depending on which DVC resort we're able to book, we're considering saving the money we usually spend on a rental car. This would be my first time using the buses on my scooter & I have some of the same concerns you do. Let us know how it goes. That'll help me decide if I want to try it without the car. We'll be going at a less crowded time so I figure if it goes OK for you, I'll give it a try. Our daughter & family usually enjoy us having the car but now that they have 2 children we'd have to get a mini-van & they're expensive. They got a car last year without us & hardly used it since they could barely fit their stroller in it & without the advantage of having my handicapped parking, she said it was such a long walk from the car that they preferred the buses.
