Are buses still running up to two hours after parks close?

WDW guarantees one hour after park closing. It’s usually longer in practice but hard to know when the last one will be.

Boats are the same. Our last trip we were leaving HS extra late and happened to just catch the last boat leaving 90 minutes after park close.

Guests with late ADRs have been told that buses may not be running well after park close and rideshare may be necessary.

On the flip side transportation is guaranteed to start at least 45 minutes before official park open. Those too have been known to start earlier, just not guaranteed.

Thanks. I have some reservations right before park close so I’ll probably have to Uber.

Disney transportation of some sort will operate until every guest has left the park.

By the last few stragglers, they often consolidate transportation or adjust it in other ways, but they will not strand you.

We left MK 2 hours after closing time, after a lovely dinner. The monorail and ferry were not operating. There were cast members greeting guests as they approached the bus area, asking where they needed to go. My daughter and I told them Yacht Club, and he pointed to a bus. We had a private ride. They were running a bus back and forth to the TTC for those guests who drove.

That’s great! Do you know if the path from the Contemporary to MK still closes with the park? One time we ate at Cali Grill and MK had just closed when we got out. We thought we could walk to MK to get a bus but there was someone on the path blocking everyone. They told us to get a bus to Disney Springs then transfer there.

No need to worry, if you are staying at a WDW resort they will make sure you get back to your resort safely, as mentioned by PP, transportation will not totally shut down until every guest has left the park, there are normally transportation CMs posted outside the park that can direct you as needed..

It appears OP isn't coming from inside the park, though, but rather from the Contemporary and had some issues in the past.

I thought your reservation was inside the park.

For reservations at a resort, you will likely have to transfer through DS or take an Uber, if it's after park closing time.

Most of them are but we have Cali Grill too.

Okay. For the ones inside the parks, Disney will provide transportation to your resort, without question.

For California Grill, if you finish after park closing, you will have to transfer through DS, or get a ride share.

Thanks for the help everyone! I like to have a plan ahead of time. One more question, do they charge for parking at a resort if you have a dining reservation? FIL will have a car.

How about the Skyliner, specifically from HS?

That stops promptly at an hour after park closing. Boats and buses run a bit longer. And some type of transportation will be offered if you are after regular service ends.

Ok thank you. I have an Oga's at 8:35, so by the time we're done and walk out of the park it'll be close to 9:30 (an hour and half after close). Guess we'll get the late bus!
