We are planning on going to Busch Gardens on our next trip 10/04/07 - 24/04/07. My brother in law loves giraffes and we were going to feed them. Has anyone done this, is this a must for our holiday. Also what's Busch Gardens like in general? Am a massive rollarcoaster fan so it looks good to me! :confused3 :scratchin :tink:

The tour you need to book is the Serengeti Safari (additional charge on top of your admission to the park). We have done this three times in the past, the last time was last year - not doing it this year. You get to ride of the back of an open top truck, feed & strokes giraffes and other animals (sorry can't remember the names). Tour lasts approx 30 minutes, I would say it is well worth doing. The coasters at BG are excellent. You must not miss Montu, Kumba, Gwazi and the new one Sheikra!! We always enjoy BG and always include a visit on every trip to Florida. My hubby loves the mix of the coasters and being able to see the animals in the park. We use the shuttle bus that operates from Orlando to BG. You need to book this in advance and there are several pick up points around the Orlando area. If you do a search on these boards, you will find info on this. Enjoy your trip! :sunny:

The question about feeding giraffes reminds me of the little zoo in France where they give children small branches to hang over the top of the pen from a raised area.

For years, and until recently they even came along with strips of stale bread. The child put one end in his or her mouth, and then looked up. The giraffe then leaned over and took it by curling its tongue around the bread without touching the child. My children loved it. It's stopped now. Probably another EU directive.

Haven't done the Giraffe bit, but Busch on the whole is an excellent park. The coasters are fab and it is quite an action packed day out, highly recommended, even with the 1.5 hour drive.

Busch Gardens is a must!
The Free Shuttle bus, is free going to Busch Gadens but you have to pay coming back unless you have the 5 Park Orlando Flex-Ticket.

It Picks up from Seaworld at 9.15, Mercado Village 8.45. I think, and i think theres another one.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for your help, think we will definitely be going to Busch Gardens then. We have a hire car so transport shouldn't be a problem. :wizard:
