We went to Busch Gardens yesterday. Arrived at 10, left at 2. Rode Gwanzi, Sheikra (3 times) and Rhino Ralley. We didn't even make it to areas of the park we usually go t. The side with Sheikra was fairly light traffic. Once we took the sky ride over to the other side of the park to ride Cheetah Hunt, my kids (10 and 11) were like "No thanks, I am not standing in that line." LoL. I don't even know what the minute wait for Cheetah Hunt was, but the line just looked terrible. It was too hot so we just left.
There were a lot of foreign visitors, more than I usually see at BG. I was very disappointed that Rhinio Ralley now sucks... they cut out half of it to make room for Cheetah Hunt. They should really just close it all together now. The crowd was manageable compared to Disney. My kids being local kids just don't want to stand in the heat. I kinda wish we would have just went tonight instead for the summer nights promo and hoped it was cooler. I think more locals come out for that.
I am changing my mind from this being a one day park to a two day park. They way the park is designed there is a lot of walking and everything is very spread out. So I think two days would be better for out of town visitors.
The people who purchased the BG fast passes were just walking straight onto the lines as far as I could see. I don't think many people pay for them. I know I got my family in for free and wasn't going to pay for them. My son went there for his end of year school field trip and his chaperone paid for them for his entire group (5 boys).
Don't forget your sunblock. I saw several ladies severely sunburned walking around the park. I think they must have been at Disney for several days prior.
