Hi Everyone . . . was wondering . . . b/c I've heard and read how incredibly crowded Disney is on Cmas day and the days following . . . has anyone ever been to Busch Gardens in Tampa around the same time? Can you pls tell me what the crowds were like? Do they have decorations & lights up there too? About how far a drive is it from the Orlando/Kissimmee area?

Thx in advance!

Well, I can't comment on Christmas, but it took us about an hour from Kissimmee to get to BG. I really enjoyed BG; it's one of my most memorable theme park days.

We were there Christmas Day 2006 and had a great time. The weather was REALLY rainy and windy so I assume this is what kept the crowds away. The downpour was torrential at times but we simply bought some yellow Busch Gardens and splashed around for the day. Not much was open due to the weather but we made sure we saw all of the indoor shows. We also went two more times during Christmas week and crowds were low vs. Disney.

Our weather on xmas 2006 was horrible. It's not usually like that though. Kudos for you going to a park. I remember it was almost like hurricane winds. Busch Gardens is a fun park. They have alot of rollercoasters. Awesome ones, if you like them. It's not as big as Disney. But, you can easily spend an entire day there.
