I have never been. Can anyone tell me if it is worth the trip. We will be in Florida and are tossing the idea around of a day trip to either Busch Garend or Magic Kingdom. We have kids 7 and 4. Thanks!

Personally, I've been to Busch Gardens twice and felt like I've been there one time too many (sometimes even twice too many). It is mostly extreme roller coasters (Sheikra) and not much of the shows (although there are some). And, most likely, your 4 year old would not be able to go on most of the rides.
We finished the park in 3 hours and were ever-so-glad we drove there so we could leave and spend our day shopping in Tampa. If you are looking for a diversion from Orlando, and really enjoy roller coasters, then I would consider it.... but in my experience, my friend and I loved roller coasters and hated BG.
I would recommend a day trip around MK.

Busch is not really a park for little ones. There is a kids' play area and some kiddie rides, and lots of places to look at animals. There's a train ride through the main animal habitat, and the big stage show is usually enjoyable for children. Other than that--it's mostly rides for older children and adults. Your family would probably get more enjoyment out of the MK.

(BTW--I live in Tampa and have a Busch pass and friends that work there--and I still drive the hour to Disney instead. If that's any indication for you!)

I've been to the Williamsburg Busch Gardens many times and my family loves it.

We went to the Tampa one once in the summer back in 2005. It was horribly hot, and unlike Disney parks there are no rides or ride waiting areas indoors (except one show that we did late in the evening).

The lines were horrible too, so we really didn't enjoy it like it was intended. I think maybe in the cooler times of the year it would be better.

Disney is much better.

With little ones, I would opt for MK. Busch Gardens is all about the thrill rides. We went there on a trip to Tampa. It was hot, humid and all around miserable. I'm sure that colored my feelings towards Busch though. My ds, lives in Tampa, likes it there much better than at WDW.
I would wait until your kids get a bit older to head to BG. MK will be a much better fit.

I've moved this thread to the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board. :)

We love BG!!!!!!!!

There is something there I feel for every one.

There is a beautiful show Katonga. I think it was equal to many I have seen in Disney. It is not character driven so it is different.

There Rhino Rally ride blows the safari ride in AK out of the water. Very cool surprise for all of us.

They have a very cute kiddie land. In addition there are small rides for the young ones scattered in every area that there are big kid rides.

The animal exibits are very well kept. The Gorillas are a must. Also the white tigers. I have only seen them on TV so it was a first.

I think if you are looking for another Disney you will be disapointed because it is very different but also very nice.
JMHO

I enjoy Busch Gardens too. Yes there are big roller coasters but there is also, the animal section (as good as a zoo), water rides, kids section, animal shows, etc. Go to the website and see all that is offered.

Another BG fan. We are taking a trip to FL last week of May and will only be doing the Busch parks - BG, Seaworld, Aquatica. There's lots for kids to do. check out their website and take a look at the new Jungula attraction.

BG will also save you a few bucks and if you want to go back the second day is free.
