Busch Gardens in Virginia - Tips Anyone?

I have been seeing all the flooding that has been happening in that part of the country. I looked on weather.com and there is rain forecast all days but two in the 10 day forecast. I know that we don't leave for two more weeks but if this keeps up we may be changing our plans and heading somewhere else. I hope not though, we are so looking forward to our trip!

don't let the forecasts get you too down!

The areas that are flooded now get flooded VERY easily...yes, this is a bit more intense for you average "summer storms" but it's not THAT bad.

Also, you have to consider that during the summer, it's like Florida...there are afternoon showers. Not always, but the humidity and heat are up (summer is here!) and those showers are to be expected, but are really not predictable.

And lastly, if they are using any of the info from the local weather guys...HA! I seriously wonder if these guys got their weather "skills" from a mail order college. :teeth:

VA is a lot like Disney- often in the summer there is rain forecast every day, but it only happens for an hour or so. The heavy rains we got this week are WAY abnormal. Unless they're forecasting steady rain all day, I wouldn't worry about it- you'll welcome the break from the sun!

Just got back from a trip to BGE and Water Country on Thursday. The lines are much more manageable in the evening during the week and it isn't so stinking hot. In New France eat at Trappers Smokehouse, everything we ate was yummy except the mac n cheese. DarKastle is really neat. It isn't worth an hour long wait but we waited about 15 or 20 minutes and it was very worth it. In Ireland there is a yummy baked potato that you can get and pick seperate toppings for it.

We had a great time. We would go to WC in the morning and stay until about 2:00 then go back to the hotel to rest and shower. Maybe shop for an hour then eat dinner somewhere and go to BGE for the evening until closing.

Oh, and while you are in town visit the new Yankee Candle store, it's huge and they have some scents I had never seen before!
I would second getting passes that include WaterCountry USA, it's a fun water park. We also did WC in the morning and then BG in the afternoon/evening. WC/BG is a great family vacation, our family has always enjoyed it. Remember Colonial Williamsburg is there also, if you like history.

Yeah, the weather site says scattered showers mostly. I'm sure that we will not cancel our trip but after seeing all of the flooding, it is there in the back of my mind.

I'd love to do WC too but we only have a day to spend if we take in Virginia Beach on our first afternoon in Williamsburg.

In this humidity I recommend pitstops indoors, such as rides like Corkscrew Hill and an eatery like Festhaus which is air-conditioned.

It's really humid now. :smooth:

can't offer much advise but I did want to say this, as a former employee of Kings Dominion, I say GOOD CHOICE! :thumbsup2
