Bus vs Skyliner

Which seems to have the shorter lines right now?

I know it is a ways in the future, but trying to book the rest of our 2021 trip. Now that Disney is hosing the Swan and Dolphin buses, that takes my first choice out. Unless we decide to rent a car.

But if you want to rely on Disney transportation, which seems to be the way to go? Buses or Skyliner? Or truly, based on transportation, CSR vs CBR?

I personally really like the Skyliner. The big problem with the buses right now are the limited capacity. Depending on how many others are waiting, you could go through 2 or 3 buses before you finally load. Since the Skyliner is continually loading, it seems like the faster option at the moment. We were there last week and the line for the Skyliner looked long but it moved FAST.

We were just at Pop and I definitely preferred the Skyliner to buses. The lines move fast and constantly.

You don't want to "cut off your nose to spite your face"
I wouldn't be so fast to abandon Swan or Dolphin.
Look at what's going on. Disney Springs hotels aren't running bus service. Maybe one or two hotels have limited service. Disney no longer offers incoming luggage delivery or RAC. I fly Southwest. DME is on the other side of the airport. No way I'm schlepping my luggage to the opposite corner of MCO. Uber or car rental is the same cost if I go to S/D or a Disney resort. Disney isn't currently offering any transportation between EPCOT resorts and EPCOT, granted many are happy walking. S/D contracted with Mears to supply service for their guests.

CBR and CSR have multiple internal stops. You may have a 20 minute ride before you even leave your resort. Walk over to the last stop. The bus may be full by the time it gets to your stop.

S/D says they will be offering boat transportation to DHS and EPCOT when Disney resumes service. Your issue is with MK. Figure 20 minutes before you even leave CSR or CBR. Time from S/D to MK, including scenic ferry ride, might be about the same as direct bus service from a moderate resort. Alternately walk over to an EPCOT resort and take a Disney bus.

We have no idea if Disney is hosing S/D. Many of us are assuming S/D got a better price from Mears. Disney would be hosing S/.D if Disney wanted to increase the cost of transportation or was refusing to sell the service to S/D. Disney bus stops are for Disney operated buses. Charter bus stops are for non-Disney buses. I don't see any reason to treat S/D differently.

Disney stops renting space at hotels like S/D for a Disney operated gift shop. Present circumstances are requiring sharpening pencils.

Different features are important to different guests. The lack of value, to me, of DME favors S/D.
