So what do you guys think of WDW bus transportation? What is the longest it has ever taken for you to get somewhere? And where were you going/coming from? Thanks!:)

I have always been pleased with WDW bus transportation. My visits have always been in October and November, I stayed at the All-Star resorts each time. The longest I waited for a bus was about 20 minutes. That was only once, late evening at Downtown Disney to return to All-Star Sports. Otherwise the wait is usually about 5 minutes.

One thing to keep in mind is that my visits to WDW were during a slower season.

I've just come back from a two week vacation in June. I found the buses on the whole worked perfectly well. In the morning expect to wait no more than 5 - 10 mins. During the day, depending on where you are staying they tend to make various stops on the way to your destination. Coming back from parks in the evneing tends to be busy busy busy! and you can wait quite a while - it probably seems longer as well because everyone is tired and irritable.

We spend some time exploring other resorts using boats / monorail which can be fun.

Hope this helps.........Regards,

Alex.

The monorails can get croweded and have long waiting lines too, and the resorts they serve are the expensive ones.

The best way to enjoy the monorail is to treat it as a ride as opposed to as necessary transportation. Just take it for a joyride in the middle of the day from MK or Epcot and you will never think of wishing there was a FastPass for it.

The novelty of the monorail is well satisfied by the existing monorails. (And the novelty of a self propelled driverless people mover is well satisfied by the Tomorrowland Transit AUthority ride.) There really is no reason to extend monorails further except to provide extra passenger carrying capacity besides automobile clogged streets notably from Downtown DIsney or to get more people across the Great Divide between MK and the MGM area using fewer drivers. In fact, a system with more monorails and fewer buses may well have longer trip times to resorts like Caribbean Beach and All Stars because you ahve to change at a hub station.
