Could anyone answer me as to why VGF and Poly share buses ? These are 2 flagship resorts that have more than enough guests to warrant their own bus transportation. Guests are paying over $1000 a night to stay at the VGF and when a bus comes its standing room only or completely full at busy times.

For pure route management efficiency I would imagine. Wilderness Lodge and the Contemporary/BLT share a route as well, as do Beach Club and Yacht Club. We stay at the Grand Floridian every year and haven't really found it to be a huge issue beyond what one would expect during rush hour. At busy times, buses will always be crowded (the worst situation we find for this is BC/YC). But it's usually only during that specific window of time and then at other times the buses can be virtually empty. They may even have more buses running around park opening hours. My issue with buses is not this one, but more so if they could somehow work on maintaining a more evenly spaced out network (although the practicalities of road travel are a factor of course).

You're expected to use the Monorail or boats. Too bad those don't go where you want to go.

It would seem like they would devote the buses to each individually, but other than certain times of the day, it makes sense. It was one of the nice things about COVID when there was no sharing.

But, it why we split stay between MK and Epcot area all the time, and why we Uber to AK in the morning when we go there, and then only have to take the bus back when we don't really care if it stops more than one resort.

We tend to do this as well. If we get to a stop (at any resort for that matter) and it is super crowded, we just hop into a Lyft and get on our way.

WL does not share buses with BLT . They do share with the campground though. My problem is that the GF and the Poly are both Huge expensive resorts and should have their own bus.

Yes, people spending $1000 on a hotel usual Have enough $ to not think about the $20 extra.

Why do they share a bus? It's cheaper to run 1 as opposed to 2.
Well why stop there ? Why provide any transportation then if the customer can afford a Lyft.

So you spend $1000 a night for a room then have to put out for a Lyft ,

One of the reasons we have always done split stays was to capitalize on ease to the parks and avoid buses.

But, we also began to build into our budget the cost of taxi or Lyft for AK…or other places, just in case.

For us, it’s well worth it in the morning. And because we stay at RIV and know the Skyliner can go down, we plan for that too at the end of the night….just in case.

They sure do, but I should clarify that this is on some routes. If you ride back on a bus from Disney Springs, you will stop at WL before the Contemporary stop.

Yes, of course. I don't expect the hotel rates to include all of this. The fact that they do is a bonus for guests who want to use it. They provide you the transportation in multiple ways. You can use it or not.

For one thing, because Disney commits to accommodating those needing ECVS, which many rent rather than own and bring.

Besides, it's FREE transportation, so the guest must conform to what's available--or pay for/bring their own.
Its not free . Its like saying riding space mountain is free once you pay for ticket . Its included in the cost . Disney wont do anything for free.

Love the skyliner ! We need more of that !

I remember pre COVID some buses from DS shared BWV, Swan and Dolphin and Yacht and Beach Club! It took forever to get anywhere,☹️

Oh, come on! You knew what I meant.

It's "free" because guests aren't charged extra to use Disney transportation.

ETA: Actually, it's reasonable to think of it as free. People not staying on-property don't pay to ride. Someone could get on a bus at Disney Springs to go to a resort, never spend a cent. Free ride.

Most of the times we have stayed there and ran into a full bus, they have another almost empty one right behind it. I actually this Disney does an amazing job with the busses for the most part. We have had our fair share of problems with them as well.
