Hello I have a bus transportation question. My in laws are taking us on our first family trip (my daughter's first). We are booked at ASMo, but my MIL is thinking of upgrading to a Mod. Our biggest concern right now is bus transportation. So my question is which value or mod has the best bus transportation? Thanks for any help.

Bus transportation can be hit or miss at any resort...whether it is value, moderate, deluxe or DVC. Personally, we rent a car and drive everywhere. The times when we did take a bus years and years ago, we had good days and bad days (at the Polynesian, All Stars and then at the Coronado); we also had good and bad days with the monorail. So there really is "no best" transportation in my opinion.

Stay value. Never had a bus problem at the values. At POFQ there were issues. Maybe just hit a bad time , who knows. Anyway I don't think the bus is a reason to pay $100 or more a night.

I agree that busses can be hit or miss at all of the resorts...but I feel like the best, most consistent bus service we have had is at Coronado Springs.
We always had a seat (which is usually not the case for us on value buses) and never waited very long. Plus, the bus stops for CSR at the parks are all close to the exit.

It is generally considered that Pop has better bus service than the All Stars.

5500 rooms at the All Stars which frequently share a bus.. vs. 2880 at Pop with usually no sharing with another resort.

It is my personal opinion that Pop has some of the better bus service I've seen 'at the world'. The best example I've ever witnessed was CSR - Never stood ONCE while I staying there and the bus was NEVER crowded. Ever. Not even once.

That said.. there are those who would justifiably argue against those two points. A lot of it has to do with time of year and what else is going on while you're there. Just because I had a great experience on the bus system of a given resort, in no way guarantees that you will.

Personally, I try to remain calm about getting around the world. I've waited for 2 or 3 buses to come and go at stops sometimes .. cause I'm NOT traveling with small kids who need a nap or whatever and I don't NEED to get on THAT bus.

I'll get there when I get there. At park close, I'll meander towards the exit with no real pressure. I'll sit and relax on a bench people watching, having an ice cream whatever to pass the time til the heavy crowds pass or until such time as a CM says "You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

And I try to allow myself the extra time (before ADR's or meeting friends or whatever) such that I can maintain that lazy attitude while I'm on vacation.

That's just how I roll. :)

Literally. :)
