Has anyone taken bus tours provided by GRAY LINE, ANAHEIM TOURS or ALL ANAHEIM TOURS? We are considering the Grand Tour of LA and the San Diego Zoo trip by one of these tour companies. Any comments, for or against the tour companies, would be a great help.

Hi MomBoyd,

I just returned from 4 days at Disneyland and 5 days in San Diego. My family of 5 - DH, DD (16), DS (13) and DS (6) took the Legendary LA Tour from Allanaheim.com. It was an all day tour from 8:30am until about 8:00pm. The tour bus picked us up at our hotel and brought us to the central terminal where we boarded the bus we would tour on all day. The driver was excellent - very knowledgeable. I would definitely take another tour with Allanaheim again.

Enjoy!

:thanks: for your help. I was leaning towards allanaheim, because they have the most helpful, detailed website. :surfweb: I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the tour.

We've also just got back from 9 nights in Anaheim and did 3 bus tours - Legendary LA, Movie Stars homes and shopping, and Universal Studios. I booked online from the UK before we left, two through Greylines own website and 1 through a 3rd party. The 3 party did not send me an e-ticket, told me I didn't need one but I did. But the tour centre you get taken to were very helpful and sorted it for me. I would definately recommend them.

If you do the Lengendary LA tour be aware that it is a long day. We had a driver called Adnan, who I think was a bit of a character. He told us he was supposed to leave us at the Farmers Market for 1 hour but was leaving us for 2! this was ample time, we discovered a very lovely part of LA behind the FM with shops like Apple, Quiksilver, Barnes & Noble, we preferred that to the market!

Also he left us for 2 hours at Santa Monica, which was ideal and 90 minutes at Venice Beach, which for us was too long. But we had no car so I was really glad of these tours.

They also arrive bang on time and expect you to be there before your time. When we went to USH the coach waited an extra 5 minutes for a party of 3 but did leave without them. I wondered what happened!!

Have a great trip!
