How late do buses run from resorts to the MK? For example, if the MK closes at 10, what time will the last bus depart for MK from AKL?

Late enough you won't need to worry about it. Disney will not leave guests behind.

I use to work at the Emporium on Main Street. If the park closed at 10pm, we'd have shoppers until midnight!

I am asking about the opposite direction. We are having dinner at AKL and want to use MK as transportation hub to return to CR. We want to hang out and watch the animals for a while. What time will the last bus for MK depart from AK? Thanks.

If MK closes at 10, the last bus will be about 9.

You can always grab a taxi back to your resort. Taxis are available at all WDW resorts. Normally they are waiting for fares, but if one is not there the Cast Member on duty outside will call and get one for you right away.
