Can you get on the buses from the smaller depots rather than the main one? Last time I was there I only remember people getting off at these depots, never getting on the buses. I'd be a lot easier then walking all that way in the morning.

Yes, there are 4 stops at POR. The stop outside of the main building is the South Depot. There are 3 others around the property. They stop to pick up and drop off ... at least they did when I was there in September. Also, everyone says that POR and POFQ share busses but they did NOT share busses when we were there in September. There were busses that read "riverside" on the front and others that read "french quarter". I assume that this isn't always the case but it was when we were there.

Thanks a lot! Keeps sounding better and better. I thought I might be awful with POFQ open (I was there when it was closed and it was nice). But it sounds like they've really got it together!!

During slower times of the year and even slower times of the day, POR and POFQ share buses. In the mornings at opening and often at closing they will run separate buses.

But, the buses at POR stop at all four bus stops for people to get on and off. They are strategically situated around the property so wherever you stay there should be a bus stop not too far.

The problem happens when it is busy in that the South Depot, one by the gift shop and lobby is the first stop. If you get on at the last stop often you can end up standing the entire way. For that reason, a lot of people make the walk to the first one.

We went to POFQ mid morning to check things out for next trip and the busses shared going to Riverside first stopping at all depots plus main one then going to French quarters. At all the stops no one got on or off.. very slow at this time of year. alot of bus rides mid day anywhere we went we were the only ones on it. :cool1:

Can anyone tell me the differences between the mansions and AB? Which is better? I heard the mansions have trundle beds too. Can anyone comfirm this?

As far as I know, unless something changed in the renovation, the only ones that have the trundle is the AB.

AB is much more rustic in its decor while the mansions are more elegant. The rooms are the same size with the same things in it ... two double beds, table, two chairs, Armoire ... both have two sinks, etc.
