My husband and I are currently set to stay at Pop in the last week of September/first week of October. I have been hearing rumors that the bus service is an absolute nightmare at this time even with reduced amount of guests. Can anyone tell me if this is true? We are considering staying offsite and taking uber to the parks. We have never gone that route, but we are wondering if there are any perks to staying at a Disney resort right now with no discounts. Help! Thank you :scared:

Other than being in the bubble I don’t see any perks for staying on property now. You still get to make park reservations for the days of your ticket, unless your a AP holder. The parks are closing early so if your off property you have additional evening dining choices. You’ll probably save money on the room and using Uber will probably get you to the park quicker. Just make sure to try to stay close to the parks.

I personally see no advantage to staying in the bubble right now, especially with no extra magic hours. Being a Florida resident, we like to take weekend trips and rarely stay in the bubble. My personal preference is the B Resort on Hotel Plaza Blvd. With that you still feel like you're within the bubble, walking distance to DS, but there are also a ton of great food options just at the other end of the road. Hope you have a great trip!

Capacity on Disney buses is currently reduced to 20 - 25 passengers. The bus is divided into six sections which are assigned by the driver. There are plastic dividers between sections.

I am a local also. I think staying in or out of the bubble is a decision to make that depends on individual familiarity with the area... Currently every well known experience is different. Jumping on a bus on property or jumping in a car off property
(do you really believe that Uber guy knows the answer to your Disney question as well as a Disney bus driver?) ,
parking lot strategy dealing with no trams and walking in heat with face mask , trying to figure out all the different Open/Close Hours... open/close restaurants & QS or TS , online mobile ordering ...Even the castmembers have a strange unfamiliarity with face masks.
Since reopening I have stayed at POP 3 times, Riviera twice and BLT twice. The length of the lines for the bus or SkyLiner will make you or The attractions look daunting. Then I remember I am at Disney and there is going to be a line and distancing makes it look very long . It is what it is. But I have seen 3 busses in a row at beginning of day at bus stops to take me to MK from POP . And that line for the SkyLiner goes so fast once they get the OK to start.
Also think the pools are more fun knowing I am on property and can hear the lifeguards playing Disney trivia games Or maybe watching a Disney movie screened ootdoors or extra special for resort guests only in room TV 4 hours of Happily Ever After Fireworks every night While wearing my p.j.s and waking up toDisney music on tv while I get ready or just having Stacy to watch having good old fashion Disney fun on the Disney Channel.
So you might consider staying off property for a non Disney trip but if you want Disney Stay on property. Have a Magical Day is my advice.
