bus services and magical express

We are staying at the GF and I was wondering how is the bus service. I also wanted to know if magical express is bad. We rented a car last time. However they want about $550 for a week Any advice would be great!!! Thanks

I have had very positive experiences with ME. How busy it is depends on when you are going. I don't know about bus services from GF as I haven't stayed there but it's on the monorail so that makes transportation a lot easier.

The bus service at the GF is about the same as other deluxe resorts. You take the monorail, or boat, to MK. You can take the monorail to the TTC and get the Epcot monorail. So, you end up only taking the bus to AK, the Studios, DTD and the water parks. The buses come every 15-20 mins or so. They aren't bad at all.
As for DME...it's a bus, with other people on it. It may stop at CR, Polynesian as well as the GF. I have heard some say that it goes to the GF first but that isn't etched in stone.
The average times from deplaning to resort checkin is about 70 mins...that can vary depending on which stop your resort is. All in all it's a very good deal. I personally love it...I had a towncar booked for my dd's first trip to WDW next week (she's 31, can you believe she's never been before??), but I canceled it and decided that DME would be a fun way to start her vacation. She should have the fun aspect vs the luxurious experience.

The one thing they do have that the other resorts don't is a TV at the busstop!

We used ME this past Nov, it was great. The only thing I would suggest is that you pack a change of clothes in your carryon bag. By the time we got out room our luggage had not come and we were heading out for the night,after traveling all day we wanted to change, our luggage was in the room when we got back.

I was at the GF this summer and it was great. We never waited that long for a bus. Check out the GF faq thread there are some great pics.
