I didn't know if this question was best asked in the Theme Park Strategies, Resorts, or WISH section. Either way, it's going here.

What time do the buses from AKL start running to either the boardwalk area or DTD? I'd like to get a run in before some meetings on an upcoming trip and understand there are no good running trails in or around AKL. I was thinking I'd get my miles in either at the boardwalk area or even DTD.

To my knowledge, there is no way to take a disney bus directly from AKL to the boardwalk. You would have to take a bus to a park and then transfer back on a boardwalk resort bus.

I also believe that the downtown disney busses start running around 9 am.

There are no direct buses between AKL and the Boardwalk. You will need to take a bus to DHS and then walk (about 1 mile) or take the boat to the Boardwalk area. Alternatively, you can also take a bus to Epcot and then walk through the park (you will a valid park ticket). Again, it's about 1 mile from the front of the park to the Boardwalk.

Alternatively, you take a cab to any of the Epcot area resorts and access the Boardwalk from there.

Otherwise, you can take a bus to DTD or AK and then transfer to one of the Epcot area resort (Yacht, Beach, Boardwalk, Swan or Dolphin) busses.

Downtown Disney buses begin running at 8:30am

PP is right about the Boardwalk. The only way to get there from AKL is to take a bus to a park and then a bus to Boardwalk. So the easiest for you I assume would be to go to AK and then hop on a bus to Boardwalk.
