Bus service at Wilderness Lodge

Hello Dis friends!
We're staying at WL in May. How is the bus service? What other resorts do where share buses with, and in what order are we picked up? For example, are we picked up first, or are we the last ones and therefore will find it impossible to fit? How frequently do the buses run?

The buses normally run every 15-20 minutes. If you are catching the bus from WL to EPCOT you will be picked up and then the bus goes to FW. When leaving EPCOT the bus will drop off at FW first. If I remember correctly, the WL bus shares stops with the GF and maybe the POLY for parks other than EPCOT. We were picked up first and then headed to the other resorts. The stops going to the GF and/or POLY did not seem to be too much out of the way because the bus needs to pass in front of those hotels anyway. But stopping at FW seems to be a little out of the way to me. Just my opinion.

Just a few corrections:

WL is always the first, both coming and going.

WL will share with FW for Studios (PM) and Epcot.
WL will share with Grand Floridian for Studios (AM) and Animal Kingdom.

We have stayed at both CR & WL. We prefered the transportation at WL. The boats are great. The large one goes WL/FW/MK (any order). The small one runs 7am - 10 pm, and goes WL/CR/FW (any order).

Buses everywhere else. It was so nice to take a direct bus to Epcot and not have to transfer trains at the TTC.

Just got back from our stay at WL and they seemed to have improved the bus situation from our last stay last November. WL is now the first to be picked up and dropped off when we shared a bus with FW to/from EPCOT. I'm glad to see that they improved this for the WL guests. I wonder when they changed it??

I have to say that I have no complaints at all about the WL bus transportation from our most recent trip.

Did you take the direct bus from WL to MK? I was wondering how that worked. Was it very crowded? Did you find it better than taking the boat?

It's always been that way.

Yes -- the route has been unchanged.

Chip'n Dale Express- I few years ago (about 2 or 3 years) when we left EPCOT after closing we shared a bus with FW and I remember having to stop at FW first because we were trying to figure out why WL guests would be picked up first (from WL) but then dropped off last after coming back from EPCOT. So if the bus has always had the route where WL guests get dropped off first, I guess I just happened to be on a bus that for some unknown reason went to FW first straight from EPCOT. The reason I remember this is because I was not too happy when our bus had no air condition and it was packed (this was after the park closed) and people were standing up which meant more people on a hot bus with no air condition on a warm day. The bus driver even apologized for the air not working. I know when I filled out a survey after that trip I mentioned this situation.

I don't like to give misinformation, and I just wanted to explain my experience.

In that particular situation, my guess is that the driver went to FW then WL because then he can take the bus to the maintenance area without having to backtrack.

There are certain times when the driver has flexibility in stop order, but the official route is WL->FW.
