Bus schedule for EP resorts?

I was reading about the bus situation when going back to the BC from DTD. It sounds like a nightmare! I was wondering what is the order of pick up and drop off when going to MK and AK? Is the bus situation just really bad from DTD or all the parks that offer bus service? Does anyone have any tips for returning from DTD?

When we stayed at BC we took the option of walking thru EP to the front gate and caught buses there. Alot of walking but we also stopped and rode Spaceship Earth for a break. We noticed that most mornings they had a CM monitoring the buses and which ones were needed most. I think that Disney got the message about the bus situation on those stops and were trying to get a handle on it. I do remember when it was just BW/YC/BC on one set and Swan and Dolphin on another. Somewhere they were combined in one route and the problems started. I am sure someone on these boards will know the answers to your question. Try posting this also on the transportation boards too.

Have fun!

I have found that if you need to get to and from DTD in a timely manner, take a cab.

The DTD to Epcot resorts was our worst bus ride - definitely recommend a taxi if you don't have a car.

To and from MK wasn't a problem. There were 2 separate buses - the BC/YC shared a bus and BW/Swan/Dolphin shared one.

I'm a DVC owner and BCV is my home resort so I've had many stays using the BC bus stop.

Normally, for MK and AK, the stops are just at YC and then BC. However, depending on when you go, the morning buses can already be SRO by the time it stops at BC because it does go to YC first.

For DTD, yes, it's as bad as everyone reports. The stop order is Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC and BWI. So on the way to DTD, the bus is already packed and on the way back, you have to go through all of those stops. We just don't do it anymore. If we want to go to DTD, we take a cab.

We've stayed at all the Epcot area resorts including Swan & Dolphin, and the busses have been different almost every time (for MK & AK anyway). It really depends on time of day & time of year, how busy they are. I've been there where all 5 share a bus, I've been there when it was split YC/BC and S/D/BW. I've read reports of each having their own during peak times.

The DTD busses are just bad in general for all resorts, in my opinion, not just Epcot Area resorts. I waited 45 min. for one at OKW last year, and it was equally as long of a wait to return to OKW. Once we waited almost an hour for return to Kidani. If we return late at night with kids in tow (like from Disney Quest or a movie) we take a cab.

If time is of the essence, take a cab to/from DTD.

I always seem to forget about the option of taking a cab. Even for the early morning ADR at another resort. I will definatley put taking a cab on my transportation list! Thanks!

This! We've stayed at a number of different resorts (see my signature, below) and transportation is a very high priority for us when choosing a resort. We continue to return to BC because we have no complaints about the bus situation there relative to other resorts.

Bus to DTD from anywhere isn't the best, so if we go to DTD, we're taking a cab both ways. Same for those early morning ADRs at another resort, like CR or Poly.

We've stayed at BC during several different times of year, and find that the bus usually goes straight to MK or AK in the morning around rope drop. At off-peak times, when the bus is really empty, it might stop at BWI. I timed that BWI stop, and it added no more than three minutes to the trip. I think that's pretty good.

The stops at Dolphin, Swan and YC are always on the way back from MK or AK, and they don't bother us at all. Once in a while, we considered getting off the bus at an earlier stop, but didn't think it was worth it.

I agree with a pp that stated that the DTD buses are bad from any resort. As for the buses from BC to MK. We had no problems at all. The bus that showed up filled up before all of us could get on but there was another bus that arrived at the same time and we just boarded that one and went straight to MK. As for any of the buses when returning to the resorts, we just get off at the first stop and walk back to the resort. Basically a five min. walk from any of them and quicker than sitting on the bus and stopping at unwanted resorts.
