Hello,

I'm considering staying at the Boardwalk Inn for November 2012 and was wondering if anyone knew the route the bus takes to get the MK/AK??

Do they share with the Yacht/Beach/Dolphin/Swan? If so, do you know what order the pick up and drop off?

I'm guessing walking or the boat is the best option for EP and HS. Anyone who has stayed here, if you can give me any info, that would be great.

I usually do a monorail resort but with the monorail cut backs and prices going higher, I'm thinking of switching resorts.

Thanks!

I routinely stay at BWV. You pretty much have to walk, or boat, to Epcot and DHS. As far as MK, AK, and DTD go...BW always shares a bus route with the S/D..always. And there are plenty of times they share with YC/BC as well. Not all the time, but often, especially middle of the day, when it's less busy and less need for two routes.

I have yet to find any of the routes to be awful...other than to and from DTD. And that doesn't matter which resort you are at...they are all awful.

Thank you so much for that information.

That's helps with our decision. We love being on the monorail but we spend alot of time at EP (love that place). So the walk would be ok. HS would be a little further of a walk but not bad.

Thanks :)

Hello,

As the PP indicated, the BW always share with S/D and often times with the YC/BC. When all five resorts are on the route, they usually do the S/D first, then YC/BC, so the BW is the last. For drop-off, you can get off at the S/D and then walk to the BW via the boardwalk. It's a quick walk (you'll probably beat the bus).

For the most part, it hasn't been to bad getting buses, except from DTD back to the resort and, on occasion AK at opening. The buses were arriving full. The other nice thing about the Epcot resorts is you can easily walk from one resort to the next. So if the line for the S/D/BW bus is really long, and the line for the YC/BC bus is short, you can take the YC/BC bus and walk from the BC to the BW.

I'm guessing walking or the boat is the best option for EP and HS. Anyone who has stayed here, if you can give me any info, that would be great.

For the boat, the BWI/BWV is the last stop before going to Epcot and first drop-off location. (Boat goes Epcot -> BW -> YC/BC -> S/D -> DHS -> S/D -> YC/BC -> BW -> Epcot.) Even through the resort is close to Epcot and you can probably walk faster than the boat, by the end of the day it was nice to sit down and take the boat.

Thank you so much for this information. It's a great help. This is my main concern about staying over by the EP area. If they were sharing a bus with 1or 2 other resorts that's ok but all of them? Yikes!

We're going to talk about it to see what will work best for us. Thanks for all the great info though...it does help!

Having stayed both at monorail resorts and epcot resorts, I don't think the busses will be *the thing* that determines whether or not you'll like the experience at the BW

I know when I've visited, the CR shared buses to AK, DHS, DTD, and the water parks. And they stopped at the Poly and GF. I actually think my bus experience at the epcot resorts has been better because the resorts are closer together than the monorail resorts. And the road by the epcot resorts is much swifter than the road in front of the poly.

Add-in that you can walk to two parks and avoid transportation all together, and it's my humble opionion that the epcot resorts are much better from a transportation perspective. Yes, the monorail is neat, but getting to a epcot is a hassle (having to do a transfer) and you have to deal with another set of crowds waiting for monorails at busy times....whereas walking back to your resort you go at your own pace without waiting.

We love being on the monorail but we spend alot of time at EP (love that place). So the walk would be ok. HS would be a little further of a walk but not bad.

prepare to be awed by that walk ;)
often, we will stroll over to EPCOT (from the BWV) just for a grey goose slushie, or to pick up tea in twinings, or see a few performers in WS. the walk itself is so pleasant, the light thump of footsteps on the wood, passing the bakery with its delicious scents tempting your belly, the exhuberance of the crowds at ESPN, hysterical laughter of ppl riding surrey bikes, past trees and the gazebo where squirrels and birds turn to watch you watch them, glancing at the eiffel tower as you cross the bridge and through the quiet you hear the gentle music of france.....we take a friendship once every trip, but only for nostalgic purposes - the walk is always one of our fondest memories (and don't get me started on the beautiful, serene walk to DHS - we always manage to turn it into a looooooong walk, stopping to talk to the ducks, take pictures, quietly talk about life and how fortunate we are:cloud9:)

"ok" might just be a bit of an understatement ;)

In December 2010 when I stayed at the Boardwalk Inn and went to the Magic Kingdom when they had AM Extra Magic Hour, here was my experience when taking their bus.

When the bus arrived it already had other guests on there so it just came from the Swan & Dolphin, so once it left the Boardwalk we were going right to the Magic Kingdom.

Later that day once we left the Magic Kingdom the Boardwalk was the 1st stop, so that meant then Swan & Dolphin was the 2nd stop.

Thanks for all the information! I really appreciate it.

LSchrow...what a lovely description!! Makes walking sound so fun and romantic! :lovestruc
