We are looking at staying at Animal Kingdom in September of 2018. Our group will consist of 4 adults and a 3 year old. I was hoping to get a little insight about how long the bus takes from AKL to the parks. I'm worried that it will be a disaster with a 3 year old.

We are staying this September at AKL and this is the one thing I am most concerned about as well. I have heard different things from different people. I will be interested to see what is posted as well.

We stayed at AKL over Easter weekend and the buses were efficient and the rides weren't too long. AKL does not share buses with any other resort, and also does not have a lengthy internal bus system (Kidani and Jambo each have one stop), which gives it a transportation advantage over some other resorts that are more centrally located, but have to share buses with other resorts or require significant internal transportation before heading to the parks.

We love AKL. The bus rides are not bad! Every resort has some parks they are closer to, some they are farther from. But nothing is really THAT far away. It's a trade off. There is nothing like walking into Jambo House for the first time. The awesome experience of the resort and its amenities is well worth the extra 5 or so minutes on the bus!! I've been pretty lucky, my kids have always enjoyed the bus ride, even when they were very little

I love AKL and would stay there every trip if I could afford it. :P The only bus ride that was longer than 15 minutes was to MK. The other three parks were less than that and obviously, AK is less than 5. :)

From AKL to MK took us 13 minutes last time we timed (the lights were in our favor that day)! It was a quicker ride than any bus that had multiple stops. I think their transportation is the best!!

We will be 8 adults and my 2.5 yo DD and we are staying at AKL in November this year- you will love it- We stayed at AKL in 2010 and there was NO problems with the buses then either. I honestly didn't even consider the bus ride to anywhere an issue- maybe the Disney Springs ride was a little longer but 15 minutes isn't bad- Unless you are at a MK resort you may spend maybe 5 extra minutes here or there depending on traffic etc, but overall I think travel time from AKL to the parks is very negligible.
