Bus Questions...

What time do the busses start to run between the theme parks? Is it better to drive between parks or take the bus?

i think they start running one hour befoer and one hour after the parks open..

There are buses running between the resorts and the parks as early as 6:15 or so. They start that early in order to get guests to their early morning ADRs. As for when the buses start running between parks, I would imagine it would be after the official park opening time. I'm not sure why that is a concern though....why would you go to MK at park opening and then hop on a bus to AK (for example)? Perhaps I misunderstood the question.
It will almost always be quicker to take a car than the bus...except at MK. If you were to use your own car, you would have to leave MK and then get to the TTC to get your car and then drive to the next park. At the other parks it's easier since the parking area is adjacent to the park itself.

We are going to MGM and then hopping over to MK but would like to avoid driving in the middle of day. So we are thinking of parking @ Epcot and then taking the bus to MGM in the morning. Then hopping over to MK for the remainder of the day and using the monorail to leave MK at night.

I'm not sure if there is a bus between EPCOT at DHS. There are Friendship launches between the IG at EPCOT and DHS. You would have to go through EPCOT to reach them, though.

I would drive to DHS (MGM) in the morning, doi what you need to do there, then take the bus to MK. When you're done at MK, just take a bus back to DHS, or take a bus to BW and then walk or boat back to DHS later in the day/evening. It might be fun to check out the scene at BW then walk to DHS. The walk is about 15 or so minutes along a nice, well lit sidewalk.
